Just got back from seeing it not too long ago. This movie is legit, all the hype it got is well deserved. Fantastic movie. Ledger was amazing.

I saw it for a second time last night. My friend didn't pre-order the IMAX tickets slap and got tickets in an alternative regular theater because the one we were supposed to go to was completely sold out for all screens. Plus, started 45 minutes later after 10:30. rant2 Waited at the theater for over 45 minutes before it started.

Still well worth it.

PS: While at the theater and waiting for a couple of people with a view of the lobby, a sold-out show of "Mama Mia" got out. Counted the guys coming out: 17. Asked one of the ushers the capacity for that screen, he said just over 200. There's your Man Card buster.

So, a theater full of women poured into the lobby and you were checking out the guys? Uh huh.

YUP, seeing Dark Knight in IMAX tomorrow for the second time. Saw it at the regular theatre last night. I can't imagine how much better it will be in the IMAX format.

Oh yeah, I'm planning on checking out dudes in the lobby as well, Herschel. Thanks!

The GF was there so I couldn't just oggle women. Nasally injected Twizzlers are uncomfortable, to say the least.

I dated a girl just out of high school that would have considered that foreplay.

It already has set box office records big highest Midnight sales and opening day sales. It's on pace to bust Spiderman 3's opening weekend total.

I loved Batman Begins but was leery of the overhyped Dark Knight. Turns out the hype was legit. Fantastic movie from start to end.

I was leery of the hype also, but this was a great movie. The morality play about the nature of good versus evil was very well done. Every aspect of the plot revolved around how much you can bend the ethics of a situation to have the ends justify the means and really made you think about what you would do in each of the situations.

Come on now guys and gals, this is X4

On all threads by now there is at least 1-3 or more contrarians telling everyone else they are wrong and (in this case) the movie sucked.

Jeeeeez, what is the world coming to when on page 2 there is no dissenting opinions. At the least I expected CoP to say it sucked like Brett does. Come on now, where's the riteous (sp?) indignation that this flick sucks out loud.

sarcasm

Well, we know Fedya won't see it until it shows up on AMC, 20 years later.

I sure hope Batman stays retired this time. I hate it when he can't make up his mind and keeps coming back.

OK I was hoping for a cameo from Adam West but didn't see one. That sucked.

Please tell me no one on this forum painted their faces or their kids' faces before going to see this movie. It's a great movie but come on. We had a whole family with painted Joker faces behind us. I wish I could have taken a picture. They could have used that on their Christmas card next year.

Just got back from it. Great movie, and I'm not one to see too many in theaters. Worth the crowds, but buy the tix online if you can - the line for the in-person purchases was ridiculous. Ledger stole the show.

Yeah, I saw similar things. Creepy and weird. The Joker would've enjoyed that.

I like it. It's not my thing, but if it brings people enjoyment and adds to their experience, go for it. Heck, people watching adds to my experience.

Guess I'll be the first to admit I was a tiny bit disappointed. First off, it was LOOOOOONG.

Yes, it was an entertaining and good movie--but I'm not so sure it lived up to the incredible hype. I'm not a Batman freak either, so maybe I'm missing something special.

Last, yes, Ledger's performance was great--but I felt the reaction of the theater patrons was kind of phony. Laughs that normally wouldn't be laughs were common throughout the show. Even on the funny bits, folks went overboard, IMHO.

I'll tell you though, the disappearing pencil trick was a laugh-out-loud moment, for sure. Classic. Can't wait to try that.

Saw it yesterday. Very good movie. Heath Ledger was awesome as the Joker. Was surprised at how many little kids there were. Family in front of us with 2 little ones in the 5-6 year old range left about 1/2 way through. Kids were well behaved, but I think the parents finally realized that this was not a good one for little kids to watch.

just hearing the the director saying that he doesn't believe in CGI is reason enough to check it out. Wish Lucas would of done the same years ago and I may have a different opinion on new Star Wars. Lazy film making as far as I am concerned.
