I was just wondering if anyone has seen the new Indiana Jones movie and what your thoughts were. Good? Bad? Not worth the money?

Plan to see it this weekend. I have lowered expectations.

Ironman was pretty good.

We saw Ironman a couple of weekends ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. I think I might have expected a bit too much out of it but I still think it was worth seeing in the theater instead of waiting for the DVD.

I've heard some conflicting opinions about the Indiana Jones movie but I think we'll probably hit the theater for that one too. Hope it's good.

We saw Ironman and enjoyed it. Would have liked a few more action scenes but the movie was pretty long already.
We've heard Speed Racer was not good so we're avoiding that until maybe it comes to the local budget. I was afraid it might lose something when I heard it was done by the Matrix guys. Nothing against the Matrix but I suspect it may have lost some of it's "cartoonishness" with a focus more on the techy stuff. Don't know, as we haven't seen it yet. Just suspected.
We're waiting on Indiana Jones so this thread is very important to us. Wink

Some pretty hokey crap in the latest Indy movie. Not completely horrible, but not great either.

Iron Man was very good. I ruled out Speed Racer. I am going to try to make it to Indy and Prince Caspian before they are no longer in the theaters.

Just saw it today. Well, there were some parts of the Crystal Skull that were a little hokey as Henry says, but overall I really liked it--if you think about the previous three films, they all had their share of hokeyness too, but that's what these adventure stories are like. Lots of good stuntwork in this, and lots of humor too. Sure it will not get any Oscars, but it was a fun and exciting way to spend an afternoon--not as good as Raiders, but I thought it held up really well. It was nice to see Indy have an adventure in this particular time period--some jabs at MacCarthyism and the red scare as well as some nods to other government myths, and even a nod or two to the previous films!

I will say that Lucas did a much better job with the story on this one than he did with the newer Star Wars films, as the dialogue was fairly witty and the story stuck to the formula/basics of an Indiana Jones film--maybe if Spielberg had directed those they would have been better.

So, I thought it was worth seeing it in a theatre.

Not a bad movie at all.

When Mutt first meets Indy, did Indy stop the train or jump out?

Ok, so I finally saw it and I have to admit that I had a little bit of trouble getting past the really goofy premise of the whole movie. Aliens? doh

It got much better once the action started and I guess I enjoyed it for the most part. Not great but not too bad either.

Same thought crossed my mind, then I thought about the Ark of the Covenant, magic stones and the Holy Grail. I wish they had stuck to more of the "supernatural, magic, hokey" stuff than going with aliens, but, I'm no George Lucas.

Ditto pretty much what everyone else posted. Especially the whole aliens thing. But all in all good family fun at the theater.
