You don't know good soul music when you hear it. |

I'm thinking you probably need to smoke or drink something first and then ponder the origins of the universe as you listen and lapse into a coma.

People seem to be widely more opinionated about music than anything else. My guess is because there's pretty much no objective standard when it comes to art, in general.

I would be willing to bet $100 that song is already on my daughter's iPod. |

Are you saying my taste in music is juvenile? They're playing the heck out of that song on the radio right now so I'd suspect that within a month I'll probably HATE it. |

Nothing about you is juvenile.......or so i've heard. Strikes me as my daughters style of music though. |

I set myself up pretty good for that one. Actually, I'm kind of surprised iowacheese hasn't chimed in with an AARP reference yet. |

Received an advance promo today and it is as mindblowing as expected. A must for all fans of progressive death metal. |

I can't see the picture because I'm at work, but from the title I'm guessing that's the new Opeth album, right? I have Ghost Reveries, but I shelved it after a couple of spins. Great musicianship, but I just can't get into the vocals. Are they similar on the new album? Personally, I'm more into power metal than progressive - Kamelot, Stratovarius, Avantasia - but I also like Symphony X, Evergrey and Dream Theater. What else is good out there? |

I saw these guys in Chicago a while back....Symphony X was probably one of the best bands I've ever seen live. Amazing show. I wasn't even a fan of them back then, but I was floored. |
