When Mr. Thompson failed to sign veteran All-Pro receiver Randy Moss last year, Brett Favre, Green Bay's longtime quarterback, stopped talking to him. Yikes....is Brett still NOT talking to him??? wow. hmm1

kind of a crappy article cuts off without discussing the sheer # of moves he made.

Fans always seem to want the high-profile names brought in, but Sherman going out and getting Joe Johnson just proved to me that the best FA signings are usually the ones you don't make.

I operated under the assumption that TT was smarter than I when it came to running a football team, and that's clearly the case.

Good article but the generalizations of the Packer fans is a bit much. Completely agree with Wolf's comment about Thompson being executive of the year.

We may be seeing a new partnership much like Pioli and Belichek developing. I think everyone is looking to see what direction TT takes in FA now that the team is reasonably "built". In many ways, I don't think he'll depart from his current strategy and justifiably so.

Agreed. The nut-job haters and those who booed TT at the draft were and are nothing more than the lunatic fringe. They were a loud and distinct minority, but their ignorant pie holes have been closed now, and I would've liked to have seen the article finish that sub-theme by mentioning that.

Regardless - it's high esteem for a team or a guy to get featured in a non-sports publication like the WSJ, and it appears that getting props isn't something TT is even interested in, which is a very important and very underrated trait.

I was a little disappointed by this article. The Saturday (and Thursday) sports column in the WSJ, usually crunches the numbers a little more and provides some interesting insite.

This was pretty fluffy and reads like a lot got cut out for space constraints.

Whatever.

BEAT THE GIANTS!!!!
GO CHARGERS!!!!
