Yeah, I don't think calling Martin "just a guy" is hating on him. He is just a guy. I said the same thing about Koren Robinson, and a lot of people (not necessarily the same ones) disputed that too. And then we cut him, and he's still unemployed. Every time we bring in a new receiver -- Jennings, Jones, probably Nelson -- that guy quickly moves past Martin on the depth chart. He's fine as a 4 or 5 but we wouldn't want him as one of our top 3 guys.

He may have a good drop percentage, but man, it's hard to forget his drop before the half in the NFC Championship Game that could have given us a touchdown rather than settling for a field goal. It was a catch that has to be made and Driver, Jennings, or Jones would have made it. If that's hate, fine; I think it's just acknowledging his averageness -- i.e., just a guy.

Not to quibble, but it's 'tallant.' Wynn does have that, but he showed last year that he was soft and unreliable. Tallant (sic) won't matter if he's going to be in the tub every day.

He showed that he was running pretty well behind a hodgepodge offensive line until he suffered an injury. So that also makes Aaron Rodgers "soft and unreliable" I suppose.

Wynn s fighting to be the backup RB at most so there's a lot less pressure on him to perform than there is for Rodgers.

Six deep in "good" receivers?!?!?!?! When you mention TEs separately? There's a whole lot of hyperbole.

1. Driver: Consumate pro. Thumbs Up
2. Jennings: If he can stay healthy, he's golden. Thumbs Up
3. Jones: Potential, and I like him, but jury's still out. He was a solid rookie who disappeared and had a couple of big drops.
4. Nelson: Loved the pick, but an unproven rookie at this point.
5. Martin: Just a guy
6. Holiday: Hasn't proven anything.
7. Swain: Flier pick

Where do you get six deep?

I think Max already pointed out this error on my part. I think Martin is just fine....we're 5 deep in good receivers.

Good one, IC. You are on a roll. Hope you're keeping dry in the flood!

I hope they're right about Humphrey, but at this time of the year everyone on the roster is a potential pro bowler and the sun shines every day. "If wishes and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a bowl of granola," as they said in "Strangers with Candy."

As to Holiday, as someone else noted, he was cut a long time ago. I too, thought Holiday had potential. And that's part of why I was disappointed when we cut KRob, too.

Still, I think our starting 3 (Driver, Jennings, Jones) are perhaps the best in the league. And if Jordy pans out, and Jerimichaelrowtheboatashore (or Tory "Hubert" Humphrey) looks good as a 2nd tight end, our offense is going to be explosive.

Quite Frankly I am tired of the dadgum rain

I'm with you, Digger. Your basic point is well taken. On a roster that may have 6 (or more) WR's, not everybody can be a superstar. But, they don't have to be. Guys like Ruvell and JamJones filled their roles well, as I expect Nelson and Swain to do.
I'll still say, overall, the Packers have the best WR corps in the NFL. And, chances are, they're only going to get better.
