"It's not a question of me not knowing the offense, it's not a question of me not performing," Ferguson said. "It's just a matter of me getting my niche within the offense, with the coaches, to put me in a situation to make plays."

Word, Robert. Like you, I am very upset that the Packers are not utilizing me more in the offense.

After complaining about his role in the offense, Ferguson was declared out for this weeks game because of strained vocal chords.

Quote from Robert:

quote:
With my past history of being successful it has been catching the ball and making something happen after the catch," Ferguson said. "That's what I thrive on; I think that's my niche in the offense. Hopefully, I can relay that message to [the coaches] and they will relay to me what they want me to do and take it from there. Even if it's playing special teams [Ferguson averaged 25.0 yards on 21 kickoff returns for the Packers in 2004] or whatever. I've done that in the past and been successful. As long as I'm involved in us winning, I'm straight.

I guess he's officially the last person to realize that the Vikings don't pass the ball very often.

I can see what he is saying, he just never really got a chance. He has trouble running routes, getting open, and catching the football but other than that he is a pretty good receiver.

Ferguson obviously hasn't won the Childress's confidence in his "kick ass offense". I'd save my breathe for the next coach Bob.

Hmm...It seems that we've all seen this movie before. He'll whine about 'not getting a chance,' and what will most likely happen next is that they will make an effort to get him the ball. He'll make some catches, probably have a decent game or two, and then...IR time. This issue is about as fresh as a Burl Ives album, and I'm glad it's no longer a GBP issue.

I think he is right, Childress is an idiot. Why write him out of the gameplan, especially for the Packer game. It would make sense to play a guy eager to prove something against his old team.

I think people need to get over it. The guy hasn't been a Packer in 3 months and theres two new threads today about him.

Maybe on his off day we can bring him in to consult us on ball security. no fumbles lost in 6 years.

I feel pretty comfortable saying the sole reason Ferguson keeps being brought up is directly attributed to you.

Pretty sure you need to have the ball in your hands during a game to actually have the opportunity to fumble.

I beg to differ. This photo shows that Turd does have security issues, as he's not protecting his ball even where he gets it most...

Wow - still putting up the fight. Even posting stats in the same way Johny Z did.

Better yet he could teach a course on nursing injuries. Give it an imaginative name like: "Nursing Injuries: 101".

My two favorite parts from the article...

"After missing the regular-season opener against Atlanta because of an ankle injury,..." Boy there is a shocker. Big Grin

And...

"Hey, coach, what do you feel like I can help us do? I feel like I can help us do this and do that."

Hey Fergie, my guess is that if Childress thought you could help more he would have you in the game plan more.

I can see the argument now...

'Favre did not give him a fair chance in GB.' and

'The coach did not give me a fair chance in MN.'

Got to catch the ball before you can fumble it. To catch the ball you have to have the confidence of your QB, AND actually be able to play on Sundays.

proper way to secure the ball.

thats the way to play 63 games and not lose a fumble.

"Still, anytime you carry the ball around your waist you're asking for trouble. You have to catch it, bring it to your body and secure it high and tight." - Mccarthy press conference

I think his left arm fell off as he ran towards the wrong end zone.
