Clit Hunt part dos?....Actually maybe not..Clit did some things on the field.
I thought this guy was known for his work ethic....playing through pain etc. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=779213 Green Bay - It's hard to say that defensive tackle Justin Harrell suffered a ruptured disc in his lower back in March because he let his body go last winter. But the fact Harrell admittedly wasn't in condition before damaging his back is as an indictment to some degree of how he has approached his career with the Green Bay Packers. "It's one of life's lessons that you learn and grow from," Harrell said Saturday. "Next year I'll approach it a little different." "Sometimes with those first-year guys, when the season's over they let down," strength coach Rock Gullickson said. "We tell them to get away from football but not to get out of shape." "It was an extremely long season," said Harrell. After reporting March 17 for the start of workouts, Harrell's back went out within the first week as he was lifting weights. "He was struggling because he was out of shape to start with and trying to keep up a little bit," Gullickson said. "Just unfortunate." |

Yep. So far this pick doesn't look very good at all, but it's a bit early to label him another Hunt. I don't think this is his make-or-break season yet, though. If he's still worthless into 2009, then the 'b' word may be appropriate. For now, he's been a disappointment for sure, but there's still time for him to put down the Funyons and turn it around. He'd better begin to make strides soon, though.

I think he is "nowhere close" to being like Hunt. |

I bet he doesn't play a down this year. Hope I am wrong. I just can't believe he would half ass/and then get hurt in the off season. |

The surgery he had was pretty serious, and quite frankly he's got a long road back to health. It helps that he's really young, but doesn't help that he's enormous, as that's just more stress on the back. If he winds up on IR, that'd be a huge failure for everyone involved at least for this year.

I have 100% confidence in TT...the only thing that bothers me is that sometime he may get too cute with his draft picks and roster moves. Like putting too much stock in an injured, below the radar DL hoping he pans out great.
Corey Williams in Green and Gold would look pretty good right now. |

Not for $6-8M per year, he wouldn't. Williams had his chance to show he was an every-down DT last year, and disappeared.

Sometimes the money gets into the heads of these big guys and they stop working. I think this guy is done with the Packers.
Agreed, JJSD, Corey Williams was overpaid and there concerns about his commitment or lack thereof. |

Good. Your calls on GB's DL over the years have been icon-esque, so we should start minting Harrell's HOF bust right now. Nice avatar.

Agreed. I just want to add, and it's not a personal attack on you, but your avatar makes you look like a giant dick head. Notice I did not call you a giant dick head, merely thats how it made you look. |

Ya right "too cute". He's built the whole roster in this method. Jennings and jones and etc. were all "too cute". Oh ya I get it, it's "too cute" when the "too cutes" don't work out. |

That's right. If James Jones had been terrible it would have been the worst pick in the history of the NFL Draft but since he's been good, it was a great pick. Now, if AJ Hawk flames out there won't be as much criticism on TT because that was a "no brainer" pick. Justin Harrell was a gamble and I think everyone knew he would be a project. I don't like the fact that he got out of shape either but that's not uncommon...I remember last year Pickett and Jolly showed up out of shape and couldn't participate for like a week because of it. It happens. It shouldn't, but it does. Harrell should get at least 1 more offseason and season before he's declared a bust. He's headed in that direction but he's not there yet. |

What scares me is that TT must have confidence in this guy to let what could eventually be the best DL in the NFL, C. Williams go, still do not get this move, have the money, DL are extremely hard to find, we had the best and let him go for a "bust", a guy who can't get off the couch and stop eating, TT had to have too. IMO, the future looks very bleek for JH and his tenure with the packers, misjudging a 1st round pick has lasting implications for 3-4 years down the road. I do like what TT is doing, you CANNOT screw up a 1st round pick... |
