No. No such clause exists. JSO and Packersnews.com talked about that last week.

Yeah, and it's bizarre. ESPN keeps talking about how Brett "needs to approve of" whatever trade happens. My God, they have their heads so far up Favre's posterior, they can't even see the light of day.

He can retire again if he doesn't like where they're sending him, so that will be a huge turn-off to TB. He won't play this year, it looks like.

According to Wendy Nix (espn's website viedo), Favre was sent home because MM doesn't want him on the practice field until he is sure he can accept a secondary role to Aaron Rodgers. It doesn't sound like any open competiton will take place .. at least to start things off. MM's got a to get a resolution soon .. he's had to cancel some team meetings over these Favre talks.

Where do these clowns get this stuff and how do they represent what they get?

A summary of Nix is reporting could easy be said in the following manner:

1. MM has told Favre he is the backup.
2. Favre refuses to be the backup.
3. MM sent Favre home as a result of his refusal.

Now I would like to summarize the facts as you and I and the world as a whole knows it (assuming one is slightly true--he was went home.)

1. No one knows if Favre has been told he is the backup or if he was told he would have to compete for the job and MIGHT end up as the backup.

2. No one knows if Favre has refused to compete or is demanding to be the starter (remember his answer to Greta..."Why?"

3. Favre went home. No one knows if he went on his own accord, if he was asked to leave, or told "hey the day is wasted already go home and we'll see you tomorrow."

Favre wants The Streak to continue.
However, if he retires, that's Tampa's problem. They will own his rights. I'm sure there will be something in the trade for that contingency.

Just got an e-mail from Packers.com that the presser is at 4:35 CT. Even here in Baton Rouge the rumors are flying that Farve has been traded to the Bucs.

Update as of 4:35 p.m.: The Packers have put Favre on the reserve/non-football injury list according to a source who viewed the NFL transaction wire today. That means he is not on the Packers active roster. It is basically a reserve list that allows the Packers to keep Favre around without having him practice.

Another update: NFL Network reports that Favre's agent, James 'Bus' Cook, said Favre won't re-retire.
