McCarthy will address the media on Tuesday, most likely before the team takes the field for a 2:00 p.m. practice.

This may come as a shock, but ESPN news will have it live (per the ticker - no official time scheduled yet).

Can't imagine we're going to learn much.

Slightly off the subject, but how did Bill Michaels become ESPN's media expert from Wisconsin? This guy is as clueless as they come. (Nevermind, I just realized that I answered my own question).

Bill Michaels in on now, speculating that the time is not set because a deal may be in the works, or possibly his outright release.

I said the same thing last night. He is the rumor king in Milwaukee and his rumors seem to never come to fruition. Last night when he was being interviewed he was talking out of both sides of his mouth constantly. It was almsot like he had two personalities. Very Herschel Walkeresque.

Bill Michaels of am 620 is the one of the biggest tools in all of sports radio and sadly Milwaukee has him.

He is the same IDOT/Moran who was trying to convince everyone of this huge conspiracy between Moss and the Pack as well.

I'm sure it exploding his ego to be on ESPN. Roll Eyes

Possibly his outright release?

Uh, didnt we hear that a trade within the Division is out of the question, so why would TT agree to an outright release?

Speculation speculation........

Pack to Brett: accept the role we give you (in a closet), retire, or ok a trade to another non-divisional team,

Chris Mortenson was just on with Scott Van Pelt and he said that Deanna and Bus Cook have entered into the discussions at Lambeau and are pushing Favre to play the practice card, so he might be out there afterall. Mortenson said there are NO, ZERO, NONE trade talks happening as of right now and it seems like the standoff is no closer to ending. Mortenson said that Goodell was indeed the one who told Favre that he would have the oppertunity to compete for the starting job and that Goodell got that from Mark Murphy. Sounds like Ari Fleicher needs to get everyone on the same page.

Well, it's been reported that the Packers and Bucs have been talking yesterday so maybe Favre and Gruden got on the phone and worked things out and perhaps Brett will be a Buc...please GOD! Frowner

*EDIT- Just read the previous post and it doesn't sound like a trade is happening yet....nevermind. pullhair

Only way I see a trade going down is to wait and if someone goes down at some point in the season.

No one would ever wish this, but imagine if a Tom Brady, Manning, or a Carson Palmer would go down to injury? Suddenly Favre's value would go up and the team could work out a deal somewhere.

The Pack/Favre may have to agree to him being in a back up role, go through camp, and the start of the season, then see if a starting QB goes down.

It sucks. Brings no immediate resolution. But I dont see a whole lot of other options...

According to Wendy Nix (espn's website viedo), Favre was sent home because MM doesn't want him on the practice field until he is sure he can accept a secondary role to Aaron Rodgers. It doesn't sound like any open competiton will take place .. at least to start things off. MM's got a to get a resolution soon .. he's had to cancel some team meetings over these Favre talks.

Obviously, no one tells Favre what to do, otherwise you would think at this point, someone would have advised him to keep his mouth shut.

If it's true, and Deanna is pushing Brett into practicing, she is just as big of tool as both Bus and Brett.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/05/allen-curious...-from-bucs-practice/

As the Favre turns, we’ve been told that Bucs G.M. Bruce Allen is nowhere to be seen at practice on Tuesday. The official word is that he had a previously-scheduled meeting “out of town,” and that Allen isn’t in Green Bay.

Still, folks with knowledge of the organization tell us that it’s unusual, if not unprecedent, for Allen to be missing from a training camp practice.

This has turned into one BAD joke!

TT, MM and MM2 need to tell Brett to either accept the role as a backup OR accept a trade to ANY team. Those are THE ONLY OPTIONS at this time.

Why should the team have an open competition for the QB job? Brett did not attend any OTA's, minicamps, etc., but everyone should just hand him the job because he wants to play again?

................oh forget it.....this is not worth wasting time on anymore!

Someone told me that Brett had a clause in his contract having to do with being able to turn down trades to teams he didn't want to go to; anyone know if this is true?
