I know, I should be more politically correct, but I believe the good lord made us all different so we could mock our respective differences.

Michael Jackson is a huge influence of Timberlake's. JT writes much of his own music, and handles guitar and piano on the album. And there's no denying he can sing. So while you might not like his music, which is cool with me (and my favorite genres are progressive rock/metal/classic rock, so this is not a style of music I normally follow), I was pleasantly surprised by his stuff.

Just goes to show you that sometimes we can be wrong when we make assumptions, or listen to what other people say without thinking for ourselves. I was wrong here...

I've got three nieces that love him, so I've heard plenty of his music. I think it's garbage. Completely unlistenable (it's so bad that I just used something that's totally not a word to describe it).

He is? What does he play? He's got producers that do everything for him. He's not talented and he's certainly not an "excellent musician". He's an over produced hype machine and nothing more.

As LS said, he is a guitarist/pianist and does much of his own writing. He and Timbaland co-produced his last 2 albums.

I don't particularly like his music either. But having said that, I am not going to make claims that he doesn't play any instruments, because I was witness to his SNL performance (which was very surprising to me) and his HBO special. He's an excellent musican. Not quite the level of say, John Legend from a similar genre, but he's up there. And as I said, he is the only one of the bubblegum boy-bands that actually has been able to parlay that into a successful career- that's because he was the only one with real musical talent.

I listen to much heavier music, but I respect what the guy has accomplished.

He seems like a decent kid, but anybody over 16 who intentionally listens to his music needs to raise their standards a little.

Hey, is "tallant" catching on as something like "idot"? Had someone previously spelled it that way or was it because of the CoP Skale of Tallant? The Skale needs to make a comeback....

As far as I'm concerned, tallant is now part of the x4 lexicon, and no, it's not because of CoP...it's another long-time x4 poster who made that contribution.

Oh, the skale of tallant is all yours - tallant is from deep in the depths of the Earth, so to speak.

Justin Timberlake's music is not my cup of tea, but I also recognize that he's multi-talented. Plus, he has the "IT" factor, which is the reason for his staying power. Not to mention, the fact that he broke up with Britney a few years back shows that he has some common sense. He knew what was coming.

I have nieces too so I have heard more than I'd like of his music... his stuff falls under the mainstream pop-crap category. Weak lyrics with extremely monotonous (and predictable) melodies. I will say this, he has a decent voice. Maybe if he got a real song writer to give him something to work with he'd be worth listening to.

** edit ** Being able to play more than one instrument is nothing special. Nearly every musician who is making a career writing, performing, or recording music can play more than one instrument.

LOL. Don't you think we all owe an apology to the Artist since many of us may be in the closet (or in the box) when it comes to JT?

By the way, IMO, JC Chasez carried that "band."
