I may have disagreements with people here and tempers may flair a lot (not even going to say from time to time) because I support the Packers more than anything else. It puts one in position to take heat for every little thing that management does. That being said, compared to childish and inane people over at the JSonline blog, this place has its place and I actually appreciate it more. Actual quote from the JS Blog:

Get rid of Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy! They have systematically dismatelled the once mighty Packers...letting Farve go is the last straw!

As long as they are here...prepare for a long loosing winter for the Packer faithful!

And yeah, I still thought Mike Sherman was a good head coach, but was terrible with both jobs. And unlike the raving lunatics over at the JS, I don't hate this team now or take "different view" of it because the team didn't start this charade. They're just having to deal with what the diva started.

There really is a "cult" of Favre. A break like this between Team and Favre is the best way to see them driven away to where they belong. where ever the hell that is.

Maybe there should be a "Pro-Favre" forum and an "Anti-Favre" forum. And we could have competitions between the two...like softball games or darts or stuff like that.

I think the big posters at the Pro-Favre forum were at practice today. You know, the morons who were chanting "We want Brett!" while Rodgers was taking snaps.

I think nothing divides a fan base like the question of which QB is best for your team. This is like the perfect storm for that argument. A Hall of Fame QB and a first round pick who's reaching the apex of his development and is in dire need of game experience.

Add on the heat between the old QB and the new management and a 13-3 season and I think it's fair to say there are enough valid points on both sides to keep a quarrel going all summer long.

Actually, I'm quite saddened by this whole ordeal.

I love the Packers, and have since about 1962 ( I was 10 then).

Brett was one of my all time favorite Packers.

It's really sad it all has come to this, regardless of how it plays out in the end, its a sad experience for ALL Packer Fans.

Packer Nation has been divided into two opposing camps. This is hurting team unity/chemistry IMHO. It is dividing loyal Packer fans without doubt. It's like the Twilight zone.

Somewhere there is an olive branch, I just dont know where. In time wounds will heal.

But for now there is much animosity amongst the antagonists.

anybody else catch rachel nichols on sportscenter say a 7 year old approached Arod and told him that he "stunk" (and that was how she "cleaned" that statement up)

That's some fine parenting there. The lunatics will go back to the fringes, Packer fans will all realize that it's about winning when the season draws near, and if Favre is traded, the worst of that bunch will simply follow him to his new team.

This isn't sad, this is the way, as humans, that we roll. Build our heros up then knock them down. Who knows, Favre could be a major religious figure 2000 years from now. I can picture a huge stainglassed window in his church. Farve standing there with the sunlight reflecting off his golden hair, one hand outstreched and the words "Release me......"

Heard about those on the news. Talk about classless. I'd expect that in Philly.

Two thoughts:

1. The NFL is a business.

2. That boy Favre is really lost without Irv.

this situation has even gotten to the point were the brewers are fighting

Manny Parra: Heys Prince did you hear Brett's back!

Prince Fielder: No, like Coach MM said...this is Arod's team.

Steve, what in the name of Bart Starr were you doing on the JSO? That watered-down pus isn't fit for Browns fans, much less Packer faithful! Stay with X4 - Sure, its schizophrenic, chaotic, and scary at times, but you've got a better chance at finding people who will respect your opinion,no matter how much they hate your guts.

Thank you. I haven't visited timesfour for some time but have read JS online blogs since it's on my rss reader. Reading comments there made me wonder what was wrong with me since majority of people there seemed to think totally opposite way from me. Now that I come here and read more balanced and reasonable thoughts of you guys, I feel much comfortable. I love Favre and wish the best luck on his future, but I'm a fan of Packers before a fan of any one player, and support what TT and MM have done. Honestly I'm happy that Packers appear to get at least something whether it be a draft pick or a player out of this mess let alone avoiding wasting tons of money for a backup quarterback.
