Suck Cook denies it, so it must be true. Even though the source is PFT, heard via some guy in the military who is overesas. The same morons who 2-3 years ago ran with a story that Bradshaw was dead.

I'd be interested in seeing a Mn Vs Green Bay ticket price watch somewhere. Right now, they are starting at 500.0 and way way up on ebay with the "buy it now" feature. IF an official announcement is made soon, I'd like to see what happens to the pairs up for auction.

One of the more insane offerings for the Monday Nighter.

I'm curious on how an officer in the Army stationed in Afghanistan could be the source on this. WTF?

What makes it even more weird is they had a rocket attack at Bagram over the weekend, so I know all communication to the outside world was locked down.

Something stinks here, but it is inevitable. I'm sure some kind of preliminary contract already existed before this story anyway.

pakr - you're right, eventually this is going to happen but this story is a complete joke. Not even ESPN or CBS Sports have anything on this.

I'm certainly not saying this story is legit, but regardless, there's no way ESPN would risk pissing Brent off by jumping on this and removing whatever leverage he may have left. If we're tossing out theories, I definitely think some basic parameters have been agreed upon, but no way is there already a signature somewhere. It'd only make sense that Brent would toss out his 'my arm still hurts' stuff and then CKA in effect refutes it almost immediately thereafter. Negotiation in the media - the true hallmark of bang-up management. This is going to be fun to watch for many reasons.

Man, I'm tired of this crap. It's taken on Madonna/Angelina Jolie/Jennifer Anniston/OctoMom/John & Kate proportions. Give it a rest, already! rant2

This has been a long time coming. It will be interesting to see if the Vikings get the Favre who was playing well in September-October, or the one who faded terribly down the stretch.

TOG has become manipulative, spiteful and borderline pathetic (maybe he always was and we just didn't see it until recently). Karma's a bitch - something I have a feeling TOG and his equally manipulative and pathetic new team will eventually find out.

Minnessota starts the season with an easy schedule, so Favre will be viewed as the man even if he puts up mediocre numbers. By the end of the season the pressure will build. We'll see throws into triple coverage and the INTs will increase. Then we'll see how the love affair with Viking fans turns out for BF!

Already sounds like a typical Queens season!

I wonder if Favre will come out of retirement this year. And, if he does, I wonder who he will play for. I think the Jets released him

Here is Mike Lombardi talking about how bad Chilli needs Favre this year, a match made in heaven.

Instead of a stern taskmaster like Holmy or even McCarthy, Favre is going to get a wet noodle worried about keeping his job.

Interesting to watch the tail wagging the dog in purple-town

Favre NFL's #1 Diva. Beating out the likes of Ocho Cinco, TO and Larry Johnson.

In fact, many players who leave the Vikings for other teams call their offense high schoolish -- “day-one install” (day-one install means it’s generic, very bland, the first day of camp, hence day one). My comment in the Sunday Post yesterday about players being unhappy with all the uncertainty over Favre is just one more complaint about the lack of leadership from Childress. It’s been reliably told to me that one of the main reasons for the departure of Pro Bowl center and lifelong Viking Matt Birk was his lack of belief in the Childress regime.

From the NFP article.

Yep, that has the makings of a train wreck waiting to happen. Confusion, some unhappy players, hearing rumblings some dont want the "diva" act to accompany Brent to the queens. A summer and TC of discontent to ruin any team chemistry coach KA might try to install.

Brent Farve is just waiting for his personal, private dressing room to be completed before he reports.

I’m pretty sure this will happen sooner or later, but really, the source for this “story” doesn’t even qualify as a rumor.
