Okay move, but he doesn't know this offense. Schooled by Sherman and Rossley if you remember his last time around.

Nall left before MM even got to Green Bay and I don't think he's thrown a pass in a regular season game since leaving the Packers. But I do expect him to accept being a No. 3 QB better this time around. Not being able to beat out the likes of J.P. Losman, Kelly Holcomb and Sage Rosenfels probably tends to humble a professional quarterback.

Nall did play in Buffalo and was okay IIRC. For a #3, okay is good enough, especially when Favre is the starter.

Last game against the Bears game a few years ago, he passed the lights out. Completed everything in sight.

You're right! He also did against Philly as well I believe. Lit it up with the team down by 30 or so.

I have been proven wrong, he HAS done more than TGJr.

Just put him in Canton with a rating like that one. Aside from the obviously humorous aspect of this, Nall's signing is a good move - it's obvious that now that the starting QB is pretty banged up, GB will need the insurance down the stretch. At this point in the year, there is almost nothing out there at the position to choose - if you don't have a job as a QB by week 13, you ain't much. This move will hopefully never have to pay dividends on the field, but I can't see how it could possibly hurt GB.

Uh, no he didn't. His last regular season game was with the Packers in 2004. Really that was the only year in six seasons that he played unless you want to count a couple of kneel downs in 2003.

Don't even bother telling us that he played in the preseason. Everyone plays in the preseason.

I thought he had a couple of decent games during the season. Maybe they were pre-season. I don't really care that much, to be honest. He'll be able to run the offense in an emergency to get them by. As I said, that's good enough. Your #3 generally won't be a guy to win games for you, just a guy to not screw away a lead if he has to come in later in the game.

Nall got about zero reps in GB when Rodgers arrived so he got a lot more experience in BUFF even though it was the preseason. Sherman handed Rodgers the #2 QB spot.

I think Nall is an excellent choice for us as a #3 QB but many teams don't carry a #3 and others only want a developmental type QB so he's not what all teams would want.

He's a warm body. They will keep him until Favre is 100%. Probably sometime close to the final game or before the playoffs start he could be gone to make room for another position of need.

He could be gone, like PH says, or if he shows well Packers would be smart to keep him under contract until Brett's intentions for 2008 are made known.

Did he sign for any time beyond 2007?

The first thing I did when I heard about the signing is run out and buy a 10,000-piece jigsaw puzzle. That will help fill in the long, boring months until Nall actually gets a chance to play for the Packers. Signing him is one thing. Actually seeing the guy take the field is quite another.

Popcorn, anyone? popcorn I've popped some and gotten a good seat for i-con's first post on this thread.
