Culpepper turned down $1 million to be No.2 in Green Bay
I am glad Clutzpepper turned it down. |

If he can catch on and start somewhere and his knee holds up and he plays well, it was a good move on his part. Otherwise, no.

The writer's making it seem like Brohm's status was up in the air while we were trying to sign Daunte. But the Packers offered him that deal before the draft. He should have taken the offer. No one's going to hand him a starting gig. |

One stupid move trumped by another. I'm happy with the outcome though (- Culpepper, + Brohm).

I guess this makes me happy I would have hated to see him come in and do well for you guys.
he is with out a doubt a head case but I still have the hunch that he can and will have a couple of good seasons for someone in the future |

Stupid redux. The guy is nothing without Moss and his "mobile" days are over. Still can't read defenses either. |

What a stupid business decision by Culpepper. The Packer's starting QB entering this season is unproven as an NFL starter and has injury concerns to boot. Green Bay held as good a chance of any team in the league of a veteran QB moving in as a #2, getting a chance to play, and being successful because of the talent around him and maybe getting a chance to be a starter again somewhere else the following season.
Culpepper really blew this one IMO. Now you know why he ended up at Central Florida instead of any of the big Florida schools. |

So true. Shining example of why you never represent yourself, especially when you're stupid. |

I've noticed that hasn't dissuaded a lot of people from posting around here. |

We should trade Brohm and Nelson while their values are still high!

Nope, just Nelson. Quarterbacks need some time to develop, and we wouldn't get full value. |

Brohm's value, much like Harrell's, will only go down. He needs to go...before he's even signed! Maybe a sign and trade! |

Looking at it another way, he could've been a part of a Super Bowl-contending team. Something that surely wasn't going to happen in Minnesota, Miami, or Oakland. And this was a worst-case scenario! |

He should take a cue from Favre and just fade away.

No Culpepper vs Sarge going to visit her Sister for a week.
No Culpepper is the better news. I'm worried a trip by Sarge means a return visit by Sis. |

Losers don't settle for #2.
Has-Beens should settle for #2. |

He isn't worth #2 in my opinion.

With it being a $1M deal, I would guess that his vet minimum would have been at least $750K - so very little in any signing bonus, if one at all. So when Brohm fell to them at 56, I doubt they would have passed on him to keep Fatpepper instead. So I'd bet Brohm would have been picked, and Fatpepper would have been rolling out of GB sometime before opening night, but possibly even hours after the draft. A $1M deal wasn't going to keep his fat, fumbling azz in Green Bay.

I understand Culpepper wanting to start but where? Even if he started the season it would be somewhere around week 4 to 6 that a high priced rookie QB would supplant him.
I was actually rooting for Culpepper last year in Oakland, he started off good but once defenses schemed for him he reverted back to his old self, fumbles, INTs etc. He never looked comfortable. It's just a well he's not a Packer. I'm still leary about going into the season w/out an experienced backup QB but I'm sure if Brohm struggles mightily in camp there will be other veteran QBs available when cuts are made. |

He seems like a bad fit for GB anyway .. not sure why they bothered bringing him in to begin with.

Good QBs fade back & pass away - after a long career that is.
Bad QBs fade back & get sacked - then end up on someone else's team the next year. Stupid QBs always think there is a better deal somewhere else & just fade out of sight. Before you can be a bad QB, you have to sign. |
