I remember a game played in the late-80's in similar conditions vs. the Steve Young-led Bucs. They basically surrendered from the get go. None of their players would stand on the sidelines when there weren't in the game, they'd huddle like musk ox around the heaters behind the bench area.

From JsOnline:
The Raiders last visit: A blast of 0-degree arctic air (minus-20 wind chill) hit Green Bay on Dec. 26, 1993, a day that is recorded in the Packers' record book as the second-coldest game in team annals since at least 1959. It's one game that Washington will never forget. "We had guys who did not want to come out of the locker room," Washington said. "For some reason, the weather got us. It was a psychological thing. It was the Lambeau Field advantage." The Raiders, a wild-card playoff team with a 10-6 final record, were buried, 28-0. "We left L.A. and it was 65, 70 degrees," said Washington, a Packers assistant coach since 1999. "Sunday morning, it was unfrickingbelievable. Guys weren't used to that kind of weather and they beat the crap out of us." http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=694505 |

So how acclimated is the current Packer team? They don't practice outside.
Or does Brett have 'em all shovel the neighborhood driveways in their shorts and flip flops? |

We'll, I think living there during the season certainly helps. Apparently OAK was arriving in Appleton on Friday, partly because they wanted the players to get used to the weather. But of course, game day is a completely different experience. It's one thing to walk from the bus to the hotel. Entirely different to be outside 3-4 hours with temps in the 20's, a brisk wind, oh..and some snow. |

Yes it was, and I was there!! Just before kickoff, the PA announcer (Gary Knafelc) announced the game time temp and you could see the Raider players turn to each other and say, "what the @#$%". Right then you knew that they were going through the motions until the clock read 0:00. |

That can describe a lot about the Packers. With windchill thats about a 85 degree difference. Advantage Packers. |

I was outside for a while today. I was moving around so it wasn't too bad. Sittin' around would have been cold. Tomorrow is only supposed to be slightly warmer than today.

It's like when I moved here. The folks here think anything below 50 is frigid. Even now, after 19 years living here, my skin is still thicker than people who have lived here all there lives. I very seldom wear a coat that is heavier than a light jacket. Others here are all bundled up and think I am crazy. Believe me, the temperature will bother the West Coasters more than the Packers, even if they don't practice in it. |

The late Mr. catts was always cold. When it is cold outside I keep the heat at 76 degrees. Mr catts would turn it up to 80 degrees when I was not looking. One day I found it turned to 86 degrees. I had to watch him like a hawk. You would think he could handle a house heated to 76, after all..[he grew up in MINNESOTA]. |

I saw Oakland beat the Broncos in a blizzard at Mile High two years ago.
We should win this game easily, but I'm not counting on weather helping us that much. A lot of our players haven't played in much bad weather themselves. Yeah, yeah, just call me the killjoy. |

I also was at that Raiders game in 1993. I was an idiot. I only wore 2 pair of socks over my feet that day. Damn near got frostbite on my toes. I remember walking out in the parking lot after the game and as my feet thawed out I was hurtin'.
I felt so bad for Raiders QB Jeff Hostetler (I think that's who it was) when he got hurt and was just laying on the field suffering. Getting hurt is bad enough, but getting hurt in -20 degree windchill and just having to lay there has to be 100 times worse. |

...did he get to go inside after the injury? If so, and if he was not seriously injured, the injury may have been a blessing in disguise. |

The injury caused him to suck for the rest of his career.

When the defense was on the field, Favre would go and set on the end of the bench covered with a parka in front of the heater. But that day he threw some incredible passes to Sterling Sharpe. |

LOL,I remember having this discussion about this game a few years back on here with someone argueing with everyone here that it wasn't that cold out and it was all a myth on the temps of that game!
BS! I cleary remeber that day, I was out rabbit hunting in the Whitewater area. When I left my house it was like -2,-3 out. I just got back just in time for the kick off after hunting. It took me the entire game sitting in front of my fireplace(about 2 feet away from it) to get the chill out of my bones. Man it was colder then a witches tit that day. |

Thats very good for the Raiders. They want to pound the football all day. This is not some typical raiders offense that relies on the pass(could see the weather having an effect on that type of team) Raiders played the Chiefs in arrowhead two weeks ago, and played very well. Raiders lose this week, and the weather will have no effect on the outcome. Lets see hopw many times Brett favre turns the football over tommorrow.

Something tells me it will be less than how many times the Raiders turn the ball over. With your first post here, try & remember who is 10-2 and who is 4-8. |
