Does anyone know how many picks TT is going to have to work with in this upcoming draft yet? I can't find it anywhere.

Picked up an extra second from Cleveland and lost a sixth to the giants for Grant. Most expect an extra compensatory pick for Green that will probably be a 4th.

The Packers have 3 picks on day 1 (first 2 rounds). Rd. 1 #30 / Rd. 2 #56 & #60

The draft isn't entirely set yet because compensatory picks have not been announced.

FOURTH ROUND
Buffalo (Mike Gandy, $4.667 million, 16/16)
Baltimore (Tony Pashos, $4.7 million, 15/15)
Philadelphia (Donte Stallworth, $5.083 million, 16/9)
Green Bay (Ahman Green, $5.6 million, 6/5)
Tennessee (Drew Bennett, $5 million, 14/1) – possibly a fifth- round pick
San Diego (Donnie Edwards, $4.5 million, 16/16) – possibly a fifth- round pick

Thanks for the info. This is offseason is doubtlessly going to be the slowest moving ever for obvious reasons, I probably will be checking the news on the Packers 5x a day.

1st = 1 pick
2nd = 2 picks
3rd = 1 pick
4th = 2 picks (if Adam is correct)
5th = 1 pick
6th = 0 picks
7th = 1 pick

8 total picks, 6 with about the first 120-130 picks......not too shabby.

Looks like it will be a fourth rounder to me, as AdamJT13 didn't list it as possibly getting bumped down to the fifth like the Bennett and Edwards picks.

As expected, the David Martin and Frank Walker signings cancelled each other out.

I'll gladly take a fourth. It was obvious that he was on his last legs two or three years ago. I'm still amazed that the Texans were that stupid. Somebody must've given them some bad advice...Hmmm.

Not only did we not over pay for an aging RB, we'll more than likely get an additional 4th rounder. More nice work by TT!

You never know... TT might package our own 4th to move up in the draft now that we have a potential comp pick in the bottom of that round. (It's not official yet but AdamJT13 is usually pretty close)

If the comp pick is correct, even if TT doesn't move up, ya gotta love all those early picks. Thumbs Up

I would be very happy with another 4th.

When you talk about trading down, you all are not suggesting trading the comp pick, right? If I recall, comp picks cannot be traded.

Sorry didnt see this til now. If GB can land a 4th, that's a decent pick up for the loss of Green/Martin.

That'll make 6 picks in the 1st 4 rounds. Pretty good firepower for TT to continue to deepen the 'talant' on the team.

I'd list the 5 primary need areas as follows:

1. Offensive guard
2. Quarterback
3. Cornerback
4. Tight end
5. Offensive tackle

Thompson gets a ton of credit because there is only really a question about the starters with #1 and #2. #3, #4 and #5 is all about addding depth and some youth to those positions.

I agree completely one can compile a list of needs. However, the term "need" is relative. GB doesn't really "need" a starter anywhere at all depending on their feelings about their interior OL.
For all we know they're confident Spitz, Coston, Colledge, Moll, Palmer?, etc. will improve...

Agreed they actually need a backup QB and TE; beyond that I don't think they'd be in awful shape heading into the season w/ the same depth chart. I'd sure look at the reality of Harris/Driver/Woodson/OT's inevitable decline AT SOME point...but I doubt those guys just fall off.

Pretty solid D, a decent O that could use another weapon or two IMO, and a good, young, improving ST crew.

If TT and MM think that Blackmon and Tramon Williams are legit, I doubt he drafts a CB early unless one high ranked one has dropped. I agree that an OG might be the biggest need. I hope the Alberts Kid ia available. When was the last time the Packers drafted an offensive linemen early. Verba??? That has been a long time ago. TT may have to move up five or six spots to get him but he is in that bottom 1st round projection.

Not sure why you would say this. Woodson and Harris are older players. Blackmon may be legit but he's always hurt. Plus TT showed with the Harrell pick that he's willing to pick players high that might not contribute immediately, but maybe a year down the road. I'd be stunned if cornerback isn't a priority in this draft.
