The server that timesfour.com resides on was hacked. Obviously this "hack" was very benign in nature as we did not experience any outages. The one side-effect of this was the main start page did not show up when using IE 6 or IE 7 or Safari. Firefox would display the page however.

Below is an update from our good folks at infopop (Groupee)

Hello,

As a followup to the email that we sent to you on June 18th, we will
be doing some software upgrades to the server to prevent
future issues from occurring. You will see some intermittent outages
today, while upgrade and restart some of the software that operates
the server.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

So if you notice some temporary outages throughout the day, this is the reason.

Thanks for your attention. Smiler

Yeah, I couldn't get on the opening page for a few days, it was annoying. Instead of going to www.timesfour.com, I went to www.timesfour.com/eve and it takes you directly to the forum select page. That worked fine.

You can also try firefox but if work blocks the domain name or IP address you're screwed unless you know the IT dept. and they give you a hidden proxy on your network.

Already have firefox. Just found it interesting that it got blocked at the same time as you got hacked. I do have a back door method because we have a guest network that I don't have to log in to because I need to vpn into customer networks. Surfin the web is just something to do during downtime on customer calls while they do whatever tests you ask them to do or change out equipment etc. Also cuts down on the boredom during lab testing.

I got the same thing today at work. Luckily I know the sysadmin (myself) pretty well. Smiler

I'd say your site got flagged when all of that extra code was embedded in the home page.

I would contact Websense to request that they scan the site again now that it's been cleaned up. That's a pretty popular web filtering software and it could stop a lot of people from getting to your site during business hours. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Wink
