Sunday night NBC dramatically unveiled their new power poll of the top NFL teams.
I was stunned to see Jacksonville at number 5 and GB nowhere to be found...are you kidding? Jacksonville is 8-4, yes they lost twice to Indy, but they also lost TN and N.O. Pittsburgh at # 4 is also a head scratcher. The top five was: New England Dallas Indy Pittsburgh Jacksonville Write your Congressmen, send e-mails to NBC...this injustice must be fixed. You're out of order (NBC) this whole world is out of order! (Think Al Pacino in ...And Justice for All) Ladies and gentlemen of the jury...I implore you! |

I actually really like this. Keep us under the radar. Way under.

Pittsburgh lost to the Jets two weeks ago and then had to kick a FG with the 60th minute to beat the Dolphins (two of the 5 worst teams in the league). The Packers lost a close game on the road to the Cowboys and somehow this makes them worse than the Jaguars and the Steelers?
The nice thing about the NFL (unlike the NCAA) is that it will be settled on the field. The power polls are just there to rile people like us up. |

Good. I expected this from the media. They have been waiting a long time to knock Green Bay out of their top spots, etc. I actually like it better this way.

On a neutral field, do you guys think we are actually better than most of those teams? We'd have a tough time with every one of them, IMHO.

I think the top 3 we would have trouble with, but Jax and Pitt wouldn't be too tough. Both those teams strengths are rush offense and defense. Packers have a great run defense, and don't need to run to be effective. Teams that will present problems for the Pack are those with strong pass offenses with good TE's. |

...and they with us, sir...they with us. Don't worry. The Packers will lose to Oakland thereby justifying this weeks "Power Poll" |

That's a false setup, to begin with--there is no neutral field. Second, yes, I think if we're healthy we'd beat Dallas, Jacksonville, and Pittsburgh. Indianapolis, I'm not sure, though probably not. New England, no. We'd have to have some strange things happen for us to beat New England. We'd have to have something like Bear Luck. |

Yep and I bet that teams around the league know how good the Pack really is. We can grumble all we want about power polls but in the NFL world they simply dont matter. If this was the BCS were perception matters I would care but until then I will just keep skipping them. |

The hated Packers. These are Eastern reporters, cant pick a small midwestern town team as a powerhouse. We just have to make them eat their words.
Plus they dont justify their decision. Just made up out of thin air. |

I think the way that Dallas' OLine and DLine outplayed the Packers' lines has something to do with it.
Dallas is good but the Packers line play looked bad on both sides of the ball. |

Haven't you been listening? The AFC is much stronger than the NFC this year. Why they even probably think that if the Packers were in the AFC they would be lucky to be at 500.

I think the poll is about right, besides ESPN - Shaun (Little hands) King said the Yucs are the 2nd best team in the NFC so these guys really know what they are talking about.

The Packers need to fix their O-Line problems, but Dallas' OLine looked liked it did because we were without Jolly, Cole, KGB, Woodson, and Rouse. There's no doubt in my mind that if we had those guys, Romo would've been on the ground a lot more. |

LMAO
Pittsburgh and Jacksonville ahead of GB. Heck, an above average 10-2 Indy team is ahead of GB. Whatever |

Well that's what happens when your offensive and defensive lines get tossed around on national television. Packers deserve it and what's more, they needed it. Favre himself said this team was "too loose" last week, which IMO is nothing more than a polite way of saying they got cocky. Reading too many of their own press clippings.
This is perfect. Now they got something to prove. I hope they stay out of the so-called "top five" until the very end. |

All of the ones I met were short. Shorter than 5'8". But boy they say they are the greatest at everything and smarter than anyone. Women adore them and cant keep their hands off of them. And they say it sucks in AZ, because the bars arent open all night. And NewYork is soooooooooooo much better, than anywhere they have been. Thats why they call the midwest flyover country. There is nothing there to stop for. |
