Giants and the first Vikes game(which was on NFL-Replay later that week). Looks like the Pack is on again this week. http://www.the506.com/nflmaps/2007-11-FOX1.html Let the good times keep rolling! Headbanger Go Pack!

For about the 5th or 6th time this year already, I'm stuck in the disturbing grey blob in MN. Another trip to the local BW3!

Does anyone know why the game isn't on in the Twin Cities? The Vikings are on CBS and it appears the Packer game is part of a Fox doubleheader. I can't make sense of why the Twin Cities are virtually the only area in the country that's not getting an early game.

There is a rule that if you are an NFL host city/area, it is the only game broadcast. The other grey blobs on the map are other NFL host cities that have CBS games at noon.

There are sometimes exceptions to this (home city team is on, but the other station has a game), but I have no idea when that comes into effect.

I wonder if it is at the affiliates discretion.
We have 2 local Fox stations available where I live in Kansas. One of them almost never has an early game....especially if the Chiefs have a noon kickoff. The other almost always has an early game. Geography-wise they are only separated by about 100 miles.

I dont know the exceptions, but I do know that when the pack played the Skins, I watched it on Fox and the Jags game was on CBS, can't remember if it was a home game or not, I dont think it was... and sometimes when the Jags games get blacked out, I can still catch the packers on Fox, if that is "the game"

When a team is at home, that's the only game on in the home market at that given time. If Minnesota are at home for the early game, that's the only game that's on in the early slot.

This means that cities in home markets of games that are on Fox in the early slot (eg. Atlanta) should get a late game on CBS (Pittsburgh at NYJ), in addition to the doubleheader game on Fox (the Cowpies again Roll Eyes): they don't have a CBS game in the early slot, and are supposed to have at least one CBS and one Fox game each week. I know we have several Atlanta-area posters; they should be able to confirm this for me.

This also presumes that the games are sold out. Since we're all Packer fans, this is an alien concept for us.

That makes sense to me now. The Fox affiliate not showing early games here is in Kansas City, while the one showing early games is out of Manhattan....100 miles down the road.

I think if the Vikes were a late game, they might show the first game on FOX. Or if they were the early game on CBS they might show the 2nd game of a double header on FOX, or something like that.

Champ just PM'd you. Wink

The Vikings have almost had three blackouts this year already. Childish's radio show was last night and a caller asked him what are the four positions you buid a team from. He answered QB, D-line, cover corners and O-line. Normally super plastic homer PA then asked him if teh QB play is why the team has struggled so much this season and he tried to avoid answering. I have the ticket, and like so many others last week, lost the 4th quarter when they cut away to the Philly/Skins game. My first plays I've misssed in many years, since getting the ticket. So this week, I'm recording both the local Fox game and the HD game on the ticket, in case the do it again.

I know this isn't exactly to correct forum, but does anyone know if that affects the quality of the HD recording, trying to record 2 HD games at once?

Also, last week, when they cut away on your local channel, did the DTV game start broadcasting, or did it continue to provide "this game is not available in your area." Which would make my first question, and my idea to record both, meaninless.

Yes, I'm looking for another blowout game this week.

Same here in Utah. I didn't buy Sunday Ticket this year - saved some $$, and still got most of the games.

Suuhhhweeet! That's cool, because even though they've been showing a lot of them, I think this is only the 2nd I'll have seen. Been out of state scouting and hunting during all the others, and had to listen to them on Sirius. Roll Eyes

Game I'm really gonna miss though is the Dallass game. Damm I wish I got NFL network. Mad Not that it would matter much though. I'll be on my way to AZ. To go hunting. Again. huntin That should be the last game I miss this year fortunately.

I switched to the Ticket immediately when the Fox went away from the Packer game and it was in the clear.

Doesn't the Ticket show the same games on the same channels all over the country? Confused I had no problem here with the ticket switching to another game.

As to your other question, I have recorded the Skins (for my wife) at the same time as I was recording from the Ticket (both in HD) and there was no problem with quality

How nice that virtually every market in the United States will get this game except one 20 miles from Wisconsin. Stupid NFL.

Since my local channel was showing the game, I had to start watching it on my local Fox affiliate because the Sunday Ticket channel was blacked out. When Fox switched over to the other game, I immediately checked the Sunday Ticket channel and it was still blacked out at which time I started to panic! pullhair

Fortunately, after a couple of minutes DirecTV turned the channel on. As it turns out, I didn't miss a single play. Thank goodness DTV was on the ball.

Yes, its the same channel everywhere. It is my impression that if the game is on local broadcast in my market, then the Ticket channel for me would have a message: "This game is not available in your area."

Great! From now on I'll record both of them when they are on local broadcast here in LA.
