OMG...did anyone besides a couple people read the scouting report when Wynn was drafted? The guy WAS LAZY! Yes, he did get injured and I believe Mike said he needs to toughen up.
Everybody knows Grave thinks everyone from the lesSEC are talented, smart studs when in fact most of them are lucky enough to have a GED and Dexter Manley's edumacation. |

Negatives: Has had several run-ins with the past and present coaching staffs, and is not considered a team-oriented athlete … Not a self-starter and does not like hard coaching or a structured environment … Works hard in the weight room, but for a player of his size and power, you would expect him to play with more aggressiveness and attack defenders … Has the leg drive to break tackles, but his feet go dead upon contact … Is too inconsistent trying to break arm tackles and this causes him to struggle in attempts to run through wrap-ups … For some reason, he prefers to be a bounder or finesse back rather than a straight-ahead power runner … Uses his body too much to absorb the ball in rather than reach and pluck away from his frame … His short arms cause him to struggle when trying to get to the pass at its high point, and he looks unnatural with his hands … Needs to look the ball in sooner on deep routes, but is better served on swing routes … Doesn't seem to have a taste for blocking (with his weight room strength, he should be blowing up blitzers on a regular basis) … Has the vision to recognize the bull rush, but makes only passive attempts to get in the way rather than try to face up … Creative working in space, but it is almost to a fault, as he seems to prefer cutting and juking when he should be using his size and strength to power through tackles rather than avoiding them He's one tough SOB. |

I've only heard a couple of Wynn interviews, but I was very impressed with his personality/attitude. Maybe I missed the ones where he sounded dumb.

Grant is good; if he isn't busting at the seams to play with the Packers, we could trade him for a lot.

Because, ya know, all players are exactly the same in the pros as they were in college. That's a fact... I read the scouting report and I remember him when he was at Floriduh. He was lazy and an underachiever. Does that mean he's still that way? The evidence doesn't point that way. McCarthy and Bennett singled him out and said he WORKED HARD this offseason. I admit, I'm definitely no genius, but I thought people who were lazy DIDN'T work hard. Am I wrong on that point? As to him being tough, I don't really know if he is or isn't. That's yet to be determined. He certainly ran hard when he was healthy. Right now I wouldn't he IS tough but I think he's far from soft. As I said, I'm no champion of the guy. I'm usually an optimist and I'm not really that optimistic he'll be anything special. Yep, that's clearly my SEC bias showing itself right there....you got me man. I don't think guys from the SEC are smart...show me a quote where I have ever said that...ever...ever. You can't find because I don't think that and you just made that up so.... I do think there are players in the SEC are talented...I think there are players in the Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10, and every other frickin conference are talented. Man, that's some bias... |
