“That dude is good,” said Harris, whose debut coincided with Humphrey being medically cleared for drills. “No joke.”

After Thursday’s practice, when Humphrey learned of Harris’ assessment, he was genuinely touched.

“Al Harris said that?” said Humphrey, who got extra reps Thursday with rookie third-round pick Jermichael Finley out with a bruised knee. “That’s a pretty nice compliment. That’s the highest compliment you can get from a teammate.

“I’m just glad (the Packers) still like me, they still believe in me. When I’m walking in the building sometimes, I get taken aback that I’m here, after all I’ve been through.”

He seems like a great guy. I sure hope he can stay healthy and prove himself this season.

If he stays healthy and lives up to his physical potential, he could be a HUGE weapon for our offense. That's a very big IF though.

I'm very excited about this offense. We're 6 deep in good receivers, 3 TEs with unlimited potential (Lee, Humphrey, Finley), 3 RBs who could all be very good (Grant, Jackson, Wynn), 2 QBs who could be very good (Rodgers, Brohm), 2 good FBs, 2 Pro Bowl OTs, and an above average Center. If the Guard positions get settled, which I think they could with Barbre and Spitz, our offense could be even better than last year!!

Not to quibble, but are you already including 7th-rounder Brett Swain?

I think our biggest questions are quarterback and the interior of the offensive line. Elsewhere we look pretty solid -- but those are some pretty major questions to have. If there are growing pains for the quarterback or we struggle to fill just one of the guard positions, the entire offense could look ordinary in a hurry.

No I was still thinking Koren Robinson was on the team. Still, 5 deep at WR is pretty dang good!

Not to quibble redux, but Robinson wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire either. Wynn blows too. But otherwise I agree with you 100%. (It's the offseason, time for picking nits).

I don't know, I thought Wynn looked pretty dang good before he went on IR. He's definitely going to have to grow up and show he can stay injury free, but he DEFINITELY has the talent. Again it's a big IF, but IF he gets his stuff together and gets his mind right, he could be a big weapon for this offense.

I'm gonna use "stupid" as my word of the week. There's a lot of it about.

Not to quibble, but it's 'tallant.' Wynn does have that, but he showed last year that he was soft and unreliable. Tallant won't matter if he's going to be in the tub every day.

Johnny Gray has been raving about Wynn on sportsline. Guess he's been looking good in OTAs. Of course, I'll believe it when I see him perform consistently without leaving the game with a hangnail or whatever.

McCarthy had some good things to say about Wynn working hard in the weight room and stuff this offseason. Edgar Bennett said he just needs to show more consistency.

My guess is that his body wasn't prepared for the NFL last year like it should have been. It's well known he didn't work hard at FloriDUH so I'm guessing he wasn't in great football shape when he arrived last year. I think having an entire offseason to work with a good Strength and Conditioning coach like Rock will do him good. Hopefully it leads to fewer injuries.

Six deep in "good" receivers?!?!?!?! When you mention TEs separately? There's a whole lot of hyperbole.

1. Driver: Consumate pro. Thumbs Up
2. Jennings: If he can stay healthy, he's golden. Thumbs Up
3. Jones: Potential, and I like him, but jury's still out. He was a solid rookie who disappeared and had a couple of big drops.
4. Nelson: Loved the pick, but an unproven rookie at this point.
5. Martin: Just a guy
6. Holiday: Hasn't proven anything.
7. Swain: Flier pick

Where do you get six deep?

I don't care what order they're in... I just want Holiday to make the 6. He's got hands and real upside.

Rodgers spoke glowingly about Ruvell during last TC. He sounded like he didn't want to see him go and was greatly looking forward to working with him when he got his shot. I think he'll stick.

I'm sure it'll come down to TT draft pick Swain and Holiday. I don't like Holiday's odds.

I don't like Holiday's odds either, especially since the Packers released him some time ago. Wink

That's one way to solve the issue. Is Frankie Neal still on the roster?

EDIT...Swain's odds are pretty good. Shaun Bodiford ain't making it. He can go find Mike Martz somewhere.

Good one, IC. You are on a roll. Hope you're keeping dry in the flood!

I hope they're right about Humphrey, but at this time of the year everyone on the roster is a potential pro bowler and the sun shines every day. "If wishes and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a bowl of granola," as they said in "Strangers with Candy."

As to Holiday, as someone else noted, he was cut a long time ago. I too, thought Holiday had potential. And that's part of why I was disappointed when we cut KRob, too.

Still, I think our starting 3 (Driver, Jennings, Jones) are perhaps the best in the league. And if Jordy pans out, and Jerimichaelrowtheboatashore (or Tory "Hubert" Humphrey) looks good as a 2nd tight end, our offense is going to be explosive.

We've got some good looking TEs. Donald Lee, Finley, Humphrey, who can also block, then you got that Haynos kid, who's like 6' 8." Might have to stash one of those guys on IR or practice squad.

5. Martin: Just a guy

For "Just a guy", few know that Martin lead the team in fewest dropped passes. He had fewer drops then Driver, Jennings, Lee, etc. He went something like 40 straight catches without a drop and is one of GB's most sure handed receivers. He may look like "just a guy" because he hasn't had the same opportunities as the starters have but the kid has pretty good hands.
