Isn't Pro Football Talk usually a bunch of rumors?

And huge Viking homers. I was surprised by it when I saw it too, only because of all the nasty things that they've said about Favre over the past 3-4 years.

Actually they're right a lot. Mike Florio is on NFL Total Access sometimes to give his opinions and share information. They have a lot of big sponsors like the NFL and Sprint so they're more than just a rumor site. |

Yes, but their spaghetti approach has given them enough credibility with a large enough number of people that some consider them "experts". |

That's what surprised me too. He's always referred to Favre as "Lord Favre," and not in a nice way. Whether or not Favre is the greatest ever is a topic of debate, but I think his numbers are only part of the equation. What never gets talked about is his ability to make adjustments after the huddle breaks, reading defenses and calling audibles, and finding his third forth or even fifth receiver. |

Florio is just tired of his INbox getting filled with Packer vitriol for his earlier anti-Favre comments
He is taking the easy way out by now lauding Favre instead. |

I'd put Favre more in the "Greatest Football Player of All-time" category than "Greatest QB Ever". Favre is one of those once-in-a-generation players in his sport like Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretsky and Tiger Woods are in theirs that we'll all be telling our grandkids about (like my grandfather used to tell me about Wilt Chamberlain, Babe Ruth and Willie Mays).
Brett Favre also has another thing in common with those names - he transcends his sport in a way that's difficult to pinpoint yet easy to see. He is also nearly universally loved and respected across demographic lines, something that's difficult to do in today's day and age. Brett Favre may also be the single most respected player in NFL history. Respect amongst peers is a facet of pro sports that is more of an indicator of true greatness than many fans and media types give it credit for. |

Favre is an all-time great no doubt. But, to put him in the same category as Jordan or Tiger Woods is ridiculous. Those 2 especially need a category all their own.

And don't PFW hate Favre, according to every Packers fan who has ever read them criticize Lord Favre? People, wake up. The guy picks on EVERYONE, and he is funny. Quit being so sensitive. |

Absolutely right. I read PFT for the news and the humor. They have rumors but I pay more attention to the news. For a Vikings homer, Florio picks on Chilly and the turds on the Vikings a lot more than he picks on Favre or the Packers. |

I like the rumors, but only for entertainment purposes. |
