He's a veteran QB with a "body of work"
I get that, but I'm suprised they thought enough of him in WCO to offer him a deal. I have zero confidence in him being able to run that type of offense.

Has he stopped doing that traveling hand motion thing after a TD pass?

I'd cringe if I saw that crap from a player in the green and gold.

No he didn't stop. He was still getting his roll-on when he was losing with Oakland.

There is a vision for ya - Vince kicking CPs butt around the field. I'd bet CP quits after one practice. He would just sneek out of camp and not be found anywhere again.

Culpepper really blew this one IMO. Now you know why he ended up at Central Florida instead of any of the big Florida schools.

I thought it was because his grades were too low?

Well, by signing him they would have had more than a brief workout to evaluate if he could handle McCarthy's offense. $1mm base with a minimal signing bonus would've been a pretty safe investiment (IMO) to see if he could do the job. After McCarthy's QB school and the OTA's they could have cut him and been out only the signing bonus if he couldn't hack it.

That said, I'm glad he thinks he can still start.

Yeah, that would have been a square peg move. That would have worked as well as the time they tried to convert that QB (Kyle Wachtolz or whatever) to a TE.

This is what Don Banks had to say:

This is where I have my doubts about whether Culpepper, who has been self-represented in recent years, is getting sound advice regarding his career choices.

Even Chris Mortenson (on ESPN) and Rich Eisen + Clinton Portis (NFLN)were surprised Culpepper turned down the $$Million$$ from Green Bay. They all stated how no team is going to hand a starting job to Culpepper. NFLN also mentioned Leftwich is in the same boat.

Matt Flynn is most likely going to the practice squad. A vet QB to compete for the #2 spot with Brohm is preferred for our QB depth.

Ignorance is no excuse. But I'm sure we can make an exception in your case.
