Believe me, I'll be rooting a lot harder for Brohm than I will for the Vikings.

As far as the viqueens passing on Brohm it's possible they didn't want Tavy to be looking over his shoulder all season at a HIGH draft pick. Fragile psych and all. They can now take a QB in the 5th or 6th round and not worry about Tavy nutting up.
I sure am glad TT doesn't worry Rodgers like that. |

The best thing about picking Brohm is it meant he will not be a Bear, Viking, or Lion. Sometimes, the best move is the one you make to hurt your rival rather than help yourself.
This reminds me of Favre, Brunell, and Detmer. I can only hope one of the three reaches Favre heights and the other is Brunell like. Rodgers, Brohm and Flynn...a nice ring to the trio. Now, I'm not saying these guys are those guys...but decades ago we had 3 young talented QB's on the roster and we do again. We've had a heckuva run the last two decades with quality QB's. Some teams have had NO quality QB's in that time while we've had several...Hasselback, Brooks, Brunell, Warner (was in camp), that's a lot of talent over the years. |

wouldn't it be great IF we did hit on another "Favre"...and we'd have a QB for the next 10 years or so?
that would just kill the division foes again.... we can hope |

Is there anything wrong with thinking that both AR and Brian Brohm will both be good NFL QBs?
I think they both will be good QBs. All the better for GB. This was a great pick for GB at 56. Taking a WR at 36 makes no sense, none. We have other positions that are degrading and need some help. With the talent on the board, we should have gone in other directions. That being said... I wanted them to take Brohm at 36. The picks at 56/61 I hoped would have been spent on a Tackle and a DB. Brohm is an excellent pick though, he will probably be a packer for a long time. Hopefully Nelson turns out to be Antonio Freeman good, it is possible, but Drafting at WR doesn't seem to make much sense unless he is top 20ish on your board overall... which he very well could have been (but he was the #2 receiver on their board - Avery #1.) |

Nelson will probably come in right away and contribute on special teams (as a returner), and for those that don't think a good returner can make an impact take a look at Devin Hester- he's probably their best weapon on their team.
I also think that Ruvell Martin and K-Rob are pretty ordinary players so it's not a stretch to believe that Nelson could be our 3rd or 4th WR. In that sense he could see 30+ catches. I wouldn't be surprised either if GB dealt a guy like Jones or someone else at the WR position that has potential if the right deal came along, i.e. DL or DB. |

I hope turns out a whole lot better than that. And better for a longer period of time. |

If they are willing to follow favre, they don't lack courage. Pretty decent degree of foohardiness should be expected from the rookies.

I may be a little scared, but morbid curiosity is starting to take hold in me. I must find out more... |

No one referenced any zebra stripes in here, GL. Typical orange person - always looking to work color into the discussion.

Speaking of Bigfoot, did any else hear Colin the Cowherder say that the guys that shot the one and only infamous film clip of him just happened to be friends with the costume designer for "Planet of the Apes"? Coincidence? I think NOT! |
