hallo over there...
first of all, i am sorry for my bad english. i live in germany and just try my best with my school english :-) i think i can understand everything. to speak or write is difficult sometimes, but i hope this would be ok for you... i am 25 years old, living in germany between hanover and cologne. i study science in bielefeld, near my hometown gütersloh. i am packers fan for some years. i try my best to watch every game from germany. first i was listening to internet radio and now there are some possibilities to get these games here in germany. for me its really a dream to come to green bay and watch the packers play. seeing brett throwing the ball down the field. being in lambeau field would mean so much to me, no question. the huge problem is, as a student i cannot afford so much money to make this dream come true. the flights are expensive, tickets are hard to get and hotel nights in green bay are so high on game days... now i make the decision to try my best in getting to green bay. maybe there are some fans who can help a little bit. every little help, every hint or email is welcome. maybe anybody knows where i can get cheap flights. i think about flying to chicago and getting to green bay by car. its much cheaper to fly to chicago. maybe anybody is able to get a cheap hotel for me, or there would be any possibility to spend a few nights by another fan who has enough space in his house. i am a uncomplicated person, non smoking, too. maybe anybody can help me out with game tickets without scalper or ebay prices for the games. maybe anybody can say something if it would be possible to meet the players. its a dream to take a photo with brett favre together. could be impossible, but i fly from germany to green bay just for him. maybe there would be any chance... i maybe will fly on november 16th. maybe a friend of mine will be with me for the trip. we want to watch the packers vs carolina. then we will do a kind of lambeau field tour the day after. hall of fame, atrium and all the other things you must have seen in green bay. then we will go to detroit where the packers playing on 22th november. would be great to see 2 games in just one week. so it will not be this expensive for me i hope :-) its not much time left. so i maybe plan the trip with other games a little bit later. important for me is that i can get in contact with some fans and green bay people who maybe can help me a bit. i have icq yahoo msn and aol messenger. so we can chat if you are interessted in writing with me. its ok to give my email adress to all people who have a chance of helping me. every email is welcome. thank you for reading this. go pack go hope to hear from you!!! regards Patrick Bremehr patrickbremehr@t-online.de |

I'm surprised he's not asking for money to be sent to a bank account in Zurich.

Try www.packersgameday.com
The owner of that site loves Germans and he will gladly buy you all the bratwurst you can eat, once you get to Green Bay. And can you bring along some Kolsch ? |

Alright, alright ... but a couple of questions before I buy into this scam:
1) What part of Africa are you from? 2) How did my great uncle come into so much money being from Green Bay? and how did you know he was my great uncle with Packer tickets? 3) What bank in the Congo nation do I have to send my Packer tickets? 4) Your e-mail address looks fishy ... I don't know if I trust you? "But ..... I'm going to go with my instincts on this one. Saddle up partner" Welcome aboard the "bandwagon", hang on ... kworst will try to knock you off ! |

thanks... normally i like americans. until now i met just nice people. problem seems to be that my english is bad and its easy to write things down. i was hoping somebody could and would help me but this hope seems not to be fullfilled... t-online is the biggest german internet partner. in germany we have t-online, t-com and t-mobile. why should this email adress looks fishy? sry but there you are wrong... i am just lookin for people who can help me in getting tickets and maybe have a chance to get a discount on tickets or hotel rooms. where do you guys read something from paying money? sry but what is that wrong in lookin for help. green bay is thousends of miles away from me and the easiest thing in gettin this trip come true is to learn to know some green bay people... |

This is the guy I posted about a while back, he had emailed me asking some of the questions above.
Anyway, there's not much we can do as far as airfare and renting a car goes, but these are things you can do on your own. It's just a matter of shopping around for the lowest price versus your schedule. I would get quotes on airfare going into Chicago, Milwaukee, and Green Bay. I wouldn't worry about the hotel, I think there is a possibility someone may let you stay with them otherwise we can get you into a motel for around $55-$60/night but it will be 30 miles from Green Bay so you'll need to rent a car. As far as tickets go, the current scalper market has them starting at around $300 each. There isn't much we can do about that. |

thank you tooner... i just want to know if there is somebody who knows where i can get a good price for a flight and car. i will book this on my own for sure. the flights are around 400€ to chicago. we wrote about the possibility that i maybe can stay somewhere. this would be great. i think it would be better to get in contact with people who could let me stay. its not good to fly and than to look for a room. maybe on this day the motel is sold out and i have sleep in my car. would be not a good idea to do that with green bay temperature ;-) maybe someone has some extra tickets. 300$ per ticket is to much for me. i found some tickets on stubhub for about 120-150$. maybe this will be ok. i never used stubhub so i am a bit afraid of doing it. dont know if they are serious... |

You can count on Stub Hub to deliver but I would be surprised if the tickets are $150. I will have to take a look.

Wow... Stub Hub has one ticket for $175, I doubt if you will do better than that. The location of that seat is also about 20 feet from where I'll be sitting.

Don't worry Breezeman, you'll get help here. Ignore the people that are treating you poorly.
I will deal with them myself. |

Breezeman -
StubHub is legitimate. You won't even have to worry about shipping - they set up remote locations, usually at hotels, so you can just pick up your tickets when you get there. When Green Bay is doing well, the tickets cost more, just as they would for a team that's leading the Bundesliga. The point is that unless you know someone who isn't going to the game, StubHub will be your best option. I hope it works out for you, and have a great trip. |

When I fly home I find that generally the prices are better in Chicago or Minneapolis. Don't count out Appleton though, there were a couple of times I got the best deal there and it's a nice little airport. For those of you that were acting like a jerk on this thread just remember that BK was the bigger man. Think about that for a while... |

Patrick,
There are some online agencies that you can check for airfare. Please keep in mind that you will get better rates if you travel on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and are willing to travel during the night. Travelocity Priceline Orbitz You are very lucky that the Euro is worth more than the USD now. Do not forget that the rates will probably be in USD. Viel Glueck! Ruhe Eine |
