two things:
The 1st half fake by Favre to Ryan Grant and the long pass completion to Driver. That was the best fake handoff I have ever seen from Brett Favre. I think Grant played it well too. The last FG kick by Crosby. It looks as though a huge gust of wind grabbed that ball after it cleared the line-of-scrimmage and then directed it up and threw the GPs. Remarkable kick or maybe Vince's ghost sneezed just at the right time. |

I vote ghost as well. Honestly, I'm starting to get a little worried about Crosby. He's shown some kinks in his game the past few weeks, and as games get colder, more meaningful and closer in score, those misses can cost GB a game. Perhaps I'm just being paranoid, but it looks to me like he's trying to over-kick the ball and that's leading to the wild spins/curves. His kick-offs weren't great today either, but I'm not sure if that's more related to the conditions being as I wasn't there.

Plus it might be nit-picking, but I feel Crosby's kickoffs have been lacking lately ... rarely have they made it into the endzone. Hopefully Crosby will finish the season strong.

Wasn't Raynor whining that they kicked an ungodly ammount during training camp?

Yeah, I think Crosby's kickoffs have been less deep as they were earlier in the year. Seems to like he is trying too hard. Might be a rookie-thing this time of season. But what do I know? I am 1200 miles west of Green Bay.

I do know enough to know that some of the ball flights that Crosby's kicks are taking do indicate over-swinging. Hackers like me on the golf course know what it's like when any of us try to really hammer the ball. Maybe it's because his leg is tired, maybe because he's just pressing, who knows why? It's just getting to be a little worrisome for me.

I believe it was the GB-Denver game where Crosby was subpar and he made the comment he was too timid in his approach on FG attempts because he was concerned about his footing. Could the weather be getting to his head? The kid kicked in Colorado and should be used to some bad weather. Note to Crosby- stop thinking so much and let your talent do the work. I think the kid will be fine. He's proven he can kick under pressure.

I just made a post in the game thread but for one thing his kicks seem low. Last week when I was there I though he just barely made it over some hands and this week Peppers gets a block.
He doesn't appear to lack the confidence, but he may be over analyzing things. He had a consistent hook a couple weeks ago. When I see him line up, I get the same feeling as when I'm playing golf, and lining up a drive... do I play my slice or hope I hit it true this time.... |
