I think at some point you have to look at the coaching staff. Like you said, TT brought in 5 players (7 if you count Barbre and Whittaker), and not one has developed into an above average player. |

Don't there have to be high expectations for a player for him to be considered a bust? Generally "5th round" and "bust" don't belong in the same sentence unless the sentence involves talking about Jamal Reynolds vs. Aaron Kampmann. Moll is not a bust and I'm sure has exceeded basically everyone's expectations. He was considered the biggest reach of the draft by many. |

Say what you want about the line but they have been great at pass protection. Looking around the league you can see what happens to QB's behind crappy pass protecting lines. Ouch.

Allen Barbre still has a chance to do something. He hasn't done much yet but generally you don't expect rookies out of Missouri Southern State to come in and have an impact right off the bat. He could make a big jump from year one to year two.

No doubt, we need some added talent on the OL, if nothing more than for depth, or to push the starters.
College, as I recall, disappointed the coaches at the very beginning of TC by not adding on the muscle they wanted him to during the off season. Specifically on the lower level, waist down. He is just not suited for guard IMHO if he cant put on more muscle. Perhaps he can be a LT, time will tell, even if it turns out to be as a solid back-up LT thats OK. Spitz's development has been hampered by all the rotating positions, center and both guard spots. Some say his best position would be center anyway. Right now we have no back-up center. If Wells got hurt Spitz would have to shift there. So we could see a center drafted as well for depth. Some college tackles are more suited for Guard in the NFL. It is possible to take a good college Tackle and convert him to Guard because his body type and atheticism is more what Guards need on this level. Overall top 4 needs IMHO are: OL both Guard and Tackle (for reasons others have already stated), Cornerback for the future, again because our starters, while really good are getting on up there. Lastly, a good TE is needed to compliment Lee, and Bubba if he's even back. A safety and OLB are lesser needs to get further down in the draft. If TT gets 1 or 2 of these needs filled in FA and the rest in the draft we can be set for a long time. BTW, how would Faneca do in a Zone Blocking scheme? I think he will be too expensive for TT to go after but would just like to know. |

According to the coaches he really worked at it. He was there for the off season program. Don't give up on him. |

Coston's injury list appear to be a concern with the coaching staff.
I really doubt that they try to sign a tier 1 FA G like Faneca. Those guys, as pointed out in this thread, will be incredibly expensive. I don't think they could justify it. I would rather see them pay a S than a G. |

Could not agree more but think that we cannot afford him and that TT dosent do much in FA. |
