I think that's what is happening now. Murphy caved. He lost his nerve, and my guess is a bunch of the board members road him hard. I also would bet that the board is behind this bafoonish move of hiring Ari Fleischer. What a horrible mistake that is. Hire the mouthpiece for one of the most unpopular presidents in history. Brilliant.

As for Thompson, he's been neutered. Everybody knows it and I'd bet the mortgage he's planning his exit. And for a GM, now is the time to make the change. It's a shame, because I think Thompson is a real pro. And believe me, he didn't win NFL Executive of the year becaue of Favre. McCarthy knows that Favre has never wanted him as the HC and a new GM will want his own coach. He's got to be looking for a way out as well.

Rodgers. It's a shame. The Favre fanatics will never, ever give the guy a break. They want him gone. They think that if Rodgers is gone, Favre can continue to just show up in Green Bay and muddle along forever. They know nothing about Brohm, but now they like him because he is no threat whatsoever to Favre.

It's a disaster and we have Favre, a weak President and a meddling board of directors to blame.

The 1950's are descending on Green Bay. I hope everybody is happy.

Career as soap opera director for sure. Talant baby.

So Favre's back and it should be interesting. AR is supposed to be a pro so he should act like it and may the best man win. Agreed Favre's the likely starter - and he probably gives them the best chance to win this year IMO...what a weird deal.

Nope. Favre already has that job.

But I would like to hear how you think the Ari Fleischer hire isn't anything but pathetic.

Ahhhhh its the Favre fanatics... aka "They" are after TT and MM, and MM

BOD is meddling too...The sky is falling, the sky is falling. Here come the 50s

Careful Mick tomorrow is Monday, typically one of the more depressing days of the week...

Man, all we have is a team that was a play away from the SB. (oh yeah, we had an easy schedule..)

Favre could use some competition. TT has proven to be easy, maybe?

I'm not sure what to think exactly. I would expect that if TT got undercut by the board or by Murphy he won't be around for very long. That would be a major blow to the franchise in my opinion. Hopefully this picture will become a little clearer in the next few days or so, and we'll see where everyone stands.

Of course he was undercut by the board and by Murphy. He was torpedoed.

As for McCarthy, the guy who told a national tv audience that Thompson was a liar because he didn't interview his buddy Mariucci for the HC spot is back it obviously is Favre's team in all ways. Also, a new GM will of course want his own coach.

Rodgers has less of a chance with the mob in Green Bay than did Dan Devine's dog.

And who do you think hired Fleischer? Thompson surely didn't, nor McCarthy. That smells of a supposed big shot on the board.

But the Favre people are laughing because this is all just fine and dandy with them.

OK... back on track here... Rodgers learned his lesson with the SI flap, so he'll be saying the right things in public. Privately, if he's to succeed, I hope he's ready to go for the throat starting tomorrow. If not, then he's not what he should be anyway.
