Have at it.

Question:
Who deserves to laugh the hardest Ted Thompson or Marty Schottenheimer?

Choices:
Ted Thompson at second guessing wannabe Packer GMs
Marty Schottenheimer at arrogant Charger owners/front office

At this time, I think we should "out" all of the whining Ted Thompson AND Mike McCarthy haters from earlier this year/last year who were clogging this board with their know-it-all posts claiming TT and/or MM had no idea what they were doing.
You know who you are and you should go back to talking about something you know, like the WNBA or collecting Hannah Montana CD's.
7 wins in a row.
You can officially apologize to all of us that had to wade through your crap - right here on this thread!!!

Ooh...that monkey HURT when it flew out of my butt just now...or at least that'll be the first thing I'll say when a true hating machine actually owns up to being wrong. You need to remember that most of these haters/Shermanites/bed wetters/etc. would rather be right and have GB go 0-16 than the other way around - not true fans of the team IMHO, just fans of themselves. They'll leave the board before they ever own up, and everyone knows it.

Blind hatred for this regime has been astounding to watch, as if some dumb ass on a keyboard, myself included, would know more about this stuff than two guys who collectively work over 160 hours per week and get paid millions of dollars per year after dedicating their lives to this pursuit. However, if I ever need help with figuring out how to let pure vindictive hatred that burns hotter than 1,000 suns shorten my life, I know who I'll PM.

All that being said, it's far from time to summarily declare this regime a success, your points on recent results notwithstanding. What's without question is that they're headed in the right direction, and could be a team that opens another long-term championship window in the next year or two if things continue to go right.

That's actually a pretty good poll.

I say "good for Marty." He was victimized completely. Chico Rivera isn't exactly ingratiating himself to the Charger faithful, either.

Schottenheimer of course, it's a long season and things could change but that still doesn't explain why one of last years top offenses has gone so far in the tank.

Anyone else bothered by Rivers throwing motion?

It took Rivera all of about two or three weeks to be known around town as an a$$, and he's been leading the charge in terms of the team running its mouth. Of course, they have a charismatic, beloved and revered leader in Norv Turner who's sure to stem this tide before it gets too bad.

AJ Smith may go down as having made one of the dumbest moves ever in the NFL - let your coordinators walk and then fire a coach who everyone thought was doing a good job - nice recruiting strategy. Not only does that leave the dregs of the coaching candidates, but how does the guy who does take the job ever think he's going to get coordinators that are any good at that time of the year? Marty was my vote, obviously.

Yes. I am.

I thought that from the time he entered the draft...no matter who drafted him...his throwing motion was/is awkward...it seems like he's in slow motion delivery...it's no wonder the ball sails on him sometimes....

Anyway, it seems like it can be corrected or at least something to work with, but I'm more concerned about his in-game at the line adjustments....he's still a very inexperienced QB....

I believe most teams will try to stop the run and make Rivers beat you.

I apologize that my opinion may have been slanted against TT. Thumbs Up

Yeah, Jarret Bush.

I think every team the Chargers play is going to be bothered by Rivers.
His numbers against the Packers:

P. Rivers 27/36 306 3 1

Some of those throws (e.g. the touchdown over Al Harris) were perfect.

Really surprised Marty has this much of a lead. Maybe a non-vote for Thompson or Marty is just as telling. Considering the forum, maybe I should have added a third choice.

"No one should laugh at anyone"

Add that to the Thompson votes to get a true number.

My bad.

I think Marty is laughing the hardest. The Chargers don't have the same energy they had under Marty.

That might be the only time in NFL history that a head coach was canned after leading his team to a 14-2 year.

I have a feeling Mike Singletary will be heading to San Diego to be the next HC of the Chargers. He should have been the choice this year.

Um... didn't the Charger's win 56-7 yesterday.....

They are not dead by any means..... The teams peaking at playoff time are most dangerous. Patriot, Cowboys have looked beatable lately..... but I'd vote TT. Marty has always lost in the playoffs.

TTmustgo has already demonstrated that he is a real stand up guy, but he is very conspicuous as the only person with a no excuses mea culpa so far.

Marty deserves it in a landslide.

I said it before the draft and I'll say it again: Phil Rivers throws like me. Really. Same motion and all. That's fine for the back yard or a Division 3 RB, but for an NFL QB, it's trouble.
