Reports: Vikings Taylor, James fight in locker room
ESPN.com news services Updated: October 12, 2007, 10:17 AM ET Two members of the Minnesota Vikings got into a locker room scuffle Wednesday that featured a thrown chair, according to Twin Cities-area media reports. According to reports in the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press, coach Brad Childress called a team meeting Wednesday after defensive end Erasmus James and running back Chester Taylor briefly squared off in the locker room after practice. James reportedly threw a punch that landed near Taylor's right eye, and Taylor retaliated by throwing a chair. But when the chair accidentally hit left tackle Bryant McKinnie -- a friend of Taylor -- that brought an end to the incident, according to reports on the scuffle. On Thursday, during the team's media access period, Taylor was seen with a shiner underneath his right eye. James, meanwhile, was added to the Vikings injury report Thursday because of a shoulder problem. It was not clear if the injury was sustained on the field or in the fight, according to the reports. The team had no comment on the reports Thursday, according to the Star Tribune. The Vikings, at 1-3, have lost three games in a row and travel to Chicago to play the Bears on Sunday. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3060050 Nice to see Mr. Potato head has things nicely under control |

In the meantime, a shot to the face takes our center out with a fractured eye socket. Where is the justice?

Very nice operation over there. Classy. I also saw that Darlene is once again running his mouth about TE's not catching balls on him. No time to dig up the link, but Geez, that team is showing all the signs of becoming a total disaster. IMHO, the Barfs will beat the crap out of the Queens this week, and it's beginning to look like every feeble loss adds fuel to the fire to what right now appears to be a locker room that is totally out of control. Throwing chairs? What is this, the WWE?
Shades of the immortal Ahmad Carroll squaring off with Joey Joe Joe Thomas. I hope Mr. Potato Head remains there as the coach for many years. |

Yes, yes. Man, I thought they couldn't get much worse when Tice left and recall being rather disappointed when the Vikes finally canned him. But alas, my expectations have been far exceeded with Childress' hiring. Please, please extend that man's contract. |

Just think how grand the Viking front office thought they were by not letting him visit Green Bay and basically hired him on the spot. |

Perhaps the Vikings players could have used the bye week for a bonding experience.

On another note:
The Packers officially let the Bears come back to life Sunday night ... the Vikings will only feed the beast this weekend. |

Yep, that's why we gotta take care of business this Sunday and beat the 'Skins. A Bears victory over the Vikes combined with a Packer loss will put them only a game behind us with a another tilt in Chicago later this year ... that loss last Sunday night still burns me. |

What a disappointment Erasmus James has been. Has he done anything?

Digger, didn't you read the post? He has punched his teammate in the eye.

James has been pretty productive, when healthy. He's no Justin Harrell, but still....The Vikings pass defense really turned bad when he went out last year.
Good thing T-Jack didn't throw that chair. Noone would have been hit and they'd STILL be fighting. |

Expert analysis from fanball.com.
Vikings: Taylor involved in brawl 10/12/07 11:54 AM THE NEWS Chester Taylor and defensive end Erasmus James fought in the locker room after practice on Wednesday, according to Friday's Minneapolis Star Tribune. James punched Taylor near the eye, and then Taylor responded by throwing a chair at James. However, the chair missed James and struck offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie. Our View Apparently, the quarterbacks aren't the only players in the Vikings locker room with inaccurate throwing arms. Let's hear it for McKinnie, who managed to block something for the first time all season. |

James was doing just fine until he tore his ACL last year. He hasn't been activated for a game since the injury. Maybe this Sunday? I wouldn't call him a disappointment just yet. |

Makes me wonder what McKinnie did to bring an end to the fracas.
