Take Louis Delmas in the 2nd round .... place franchise tag on Collins next year .... then trade him for a 2nd round pick.

Collins is a safety. Jenkins is a cornerback. Other than that, yeah, you've nailed it.

According to who? Most scouts are comparing Collins to LeRoy Butler. Last I checked, Butler played safety.

Now get back to that stud William Moore, the #9 pick in the draft.

There are doubts about his speed and quickness. He'll obviously be drafted as a cornerback, but could easily be moved to safety fairly soon if it doesn't work out.

Send Collins packing. OVER-RATED!

And yes, numerous scouts have said Jenkins projects to Safety in the NFL. Fine. If Raji and Jackson are both off the board at #9, SCOOP HIM UP!

I don't have anyone I dislike except Cushing or Ray Ray. U$C players have been pretty much big disappointments in the last few years. The only two guys I like are Maivia and Mathews Jr.

I would be fine with Smith, Monroe, Curry, Maybin, Oher, or Raji.

I don't think Orakpo is a 3-4 backer. I also think Jenkins is not a particular area of need although I wouldn't be upset. If someone like Curry slipped to #9, I would be disappointed we didn't select him but he also doesn't fill a need.

I think the 2nd and 3rd round has a lot of value.

He's a middle LB in a 3-4. As I said, I would draft him in a milli-second but he would be a sure BPA.

Clinton Sintim is a OLB with pass rushing skills in a 3-4.

The Packers have, at best, 1.5 quality linebackers.. well, throw in Kampy - I forgot... ok 2.5 LBs... at BEST. Still need at least 1.5 more. CURRY.

I want to see Bishop get an opportunity to play. He was the only LB last year to show any ability to force fumbles.

Bye bye Nick. You're OK but you're no Ed Reed or Bob Sanders. I wouldn't mind if they took Jenkins and moved him to Safety.

I guess I view it a bit differently. Sometimes fans forget the NFL is a business. Collins is coming into the final year of his rookie contract following a pro bowl season. No doubt he wants to cash in and I'd venture to guess most of us would try to do the same thing if we were in his shoes. As long as he is there for training camp I won't get too bent out of shape about it. Looking to ship him out of town is the last thing I'd do. Finding pro bowl players is the name of the game. Why in the hell would TT look at sending one that's so young out of town? Seems counter-productive to me.

Collin is denying his absense is contract-driven. He's claiming family problems that he does not care to discuss.

Wilde offered a guarantee that was not entirely accurate on Homer's show yesterday. Not about the family problems, which is really nobody's business. Wilde meant that the contract is "guaranteed" to be a part of this, if I understood him correctly.

Packer Update directly refutes that JSO report, saying Collins is really unhappy despite his public statements otherwise.

Didn't MM say last week that Collins' absence was related to a "business" situation? Why would he say that if the real reason had nothing to do with the contract?

Maybe he's attempting to keep his player's personal life out of the papers.

Bedard reported the comments of Collins from yesterday's bus tour stop. And McCarthy at the recent mini-camp. And mentioned that widely-speculated rumors that Collins is staging a work slowdown due to contract unhappiness. PU did not refute one factual point made in the JS piece. It just drew a conclusion about contradictory statements whereas Bedard left that up to the reader--as a good journalist is supposed to do.
