That's a lot of self important stupidity right there Shoeless. You could've just posted a picture of Paris Hilton and had the same effect.

Here ya go, Paris showing CoP what she thinks of him:

You did notice the one finger salute in there didn't you. ROFL

CoP your a riot, your schtick keeps cracking me up.

So what? I'm with CoP on this one. Unlike you, that was the highlight of CoP's life, serving coffee to some dude named Dubay. He went on to the coffee serving Hall of fame. Did you? NO! Probably went onto a job paying more than 3 grand a year, didn't you?

True dat. I'm like the Vikings...the off-season is my time to shine!

Because when exactly the opposite of your wisdom occurs in the regular season it's convenient to be MIA. Self important coward.

A little lol. Self-important coward? Uh, another projection. If you knew me in the non-virtual world you'd realize how anti-self-esteem I am. I lower myself below others in real life everyday. (softball for someone) If I come across as self-important it's something you're putting on me that isn't me.

As to Orlando.... We may have crossed paths many times. Why won't you float your first name? I'm hoping to GOD you aren't Bo Mitchell for a very specific reason.

Oh, and about why I disappear. It would've made great sense for me to post during the regular season the 2 seasons prior to this one. My "agenda" is anti-Favre so I could've looked like a genius 2 out of the last 3 years. I don't do that though. The season is for the games not for opinion. The off-season is "boring" so you need things to pass the time. That's why I come here. If I was so self-important as you wrongly allege, I wouldn't be able to leave this place because I'd feel too important to do so.

and..finally, if you want to say how wrong I was on Favre I totally agree. How was I to know he was actually going to care last season? He finally put the work in to play up to his capabilities. Pretty pathetic he wasn't doing that the previous years. If you recall, which I'm sure you don't, one of my main issues with him is that he cheated himself and the Packers by not preparing himself properly. He thought he could just show on Sunday and play well. He did something unexpected and it showed last year. Too bad he doesn't want to work like that again.

LOL! The highlight of my life? Nope. It was a great time and was filled with wonderful memories that I will always cherish. It was my beginning on my way to the Coffee HOF! I have a "coffee grounds" brown jacket to prove it! I also got a picture of my face on a coffee mug. I think my speech just may have moved you to tears.

As I noted in that posting... it was a "(softball for someone)"...

I thought about changing the wording, but wanted to see what the lecherous minds could come up with here.

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of-this guy really doesn't realize how completely self absorbed he is because he doesn't understand that he just admitted to thinking himself above others to begin with. That's what I was thinking, but if you wanna stick with the licentious stuff, go right ahead. Big Grin

She's brilliant? That might be true but not in this case.

How does "lowering yourself BELOW others" imply that you were ABOVE them? It doesn't. It implies that I think we're all equal but I choose to put others before myself.

I read a book as a youth by Gayle Sayers... I AM THIRD. The message is simple and one I live by...GOD first...FRIENDS AND FAMILY second...i am THIRD. So, I was commenting on the fact that I put others first. It is one thing to revile me for my words on a board but a very bad and incredibly poor translation of my clear words. You are free to twist.

Show me your brilliance and show me your thought process as to how those words gave you that impression. It isn't there unless you say it is.

So, you're saying I misunderstood your words, correct? Then I would challenge you to go back and listen to the Brett Favre quotes that you have used to vilify him and tell me if perhaps you haven't misunderstood them as well. Could "something's bound to happen" possibly mean something else other than your interpretation? Could the quote about studying for the upcoming game immediately after a game was over for the first time in his career possibly mean something a litte different than your portrayal? Could your opinion of Brett Favre be clouding your objectivity? It works both ways you know.

It would've been so much easier to just admit you mischaracterized what I wrote. Now, you have to bring in something not germane to the question I asked of you. I understand pride so it makes sense to me.

Since you asked me to go back and listen...I will. Will you give me your HONEST thoughts on the points you wanted me to re-listen to? You disagree with my interpretation of what he's said? I think it's as clear as you being incorrect in your assessment of my statement on lowering myself but that's just me. I'm not brilliant.

EDIT: An irony is that when you completely misrepresented my words you had the site owner hailing you as brilliant and acting like I just got smacked down. Nothing was further from the truth but when you're unpopular like me you expect every post to be a "road game".

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I didn't misrepresent anything as that was my honest understanding of what you wrote. If it was not what you intended, which you have now stated, then yes indeed, I was wrong in my understanding. You missed the point of my previous post, however. I guess my point was too obscure.

My previous post was an attempt to point out to you that if the opinion I have formed of you from reading your previous posts clouded my interpretation of your words, don't you think it's possible that your negative opinion of Brett Favre has clouded your objectivity on the subject? Honestly, can you say that you are totally objective when it comes to all things related to Brett Favre? If you can be honest with yourself, I think the answer to that last question has to be no.

Here we go with assumptions, again. I'm only "anti" Favre to the degree that the truth leads that way. I'm anti him for his stupid interceptions...FACT...I'm anti-Favre for always running his mouth about retirmement... FACT...I'm anti Favre for skipping OTA's to go to grad parties...FACT...I'm anti Favre for not studying as hard as he could...FACT. There is nothing about Favre I just choose to be anti for the sake of being anti. I cried that night in Chicago when he acted as if he was done. I have a heart. I'm very different than most folks. I don't just ascribe something to someone unless it's deserved. He deserves the criticism I, and others, levy against him. I also praise him for his commitment last year. It was tremendous. He used to be my favorite athlete. It's kind of hard to be anti someone if he once was your fav athlete.

I call it objectivity. Ridicule it all you'd like.

PS..I got your obscure point. You didn't bother giving me answers to the things you feel I may have misunderstood. I would've loved for you to go on record about how wrong I am about my deciphering of his simple statements that can but lead to one conclusion. I wanted you to prove to me that I might be in error by offering a plausible alternative to my stated beliefs.

I'd still love to know how you came to the conclusion that I thought I was above others...that is projection. I rarely get offended but that was offensive to me and who I am. I've always said I'm not better than anybody and nobody is better than me.

I'd call it letting his obvious and admitted negatives totally obscure Brett Favre's career as a whole, but that's just my interpretation of your thoughts on the subject. You see, I too hated those stupid interceptions. I got sick and tired of his retirement talk. I wished time and again that he'd play less recklessly. After the 4-12 season, part of me wished that he would retire, and yes, a little bit of me is happy he finally did retire and handed the team to Aaron. After all that, I can still say that every accolade the man has gotten he's deserved.

Every career has it's ebb and flow and some of Favre's last seasons were average at best, but when looked at as a whole it's hard to deny there were many great and magical years. He never missed a game and never failed to entertain me in the process of becoming a sure Hall of Famer.

Will I let a few missed practices during OTA's cloud my view of the whole? No. Will I allow my exasperation over more risky plays than I would have liked breed hate inside me? No. Will I miss him tremendously when the regular season starts? Yes. But will I cheer and put my entire support solidly behind Aaron Rodgers? You bet I will.

You know, CoP, this whole portion of your post was added after you first posted it and wasn't there when I replied to it. Tactics like that tend to make people angry, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt even though it's happened nearly every time I've responded to you.

I would have loved if you'd just gone back and listened to/and or read the Favre quotes that I mentioned just to see if perhaps there was another way to interpret them. I wanted you to prove to me that you were willing to actually consider the point that you may have a negative bias. Do that and then I'll tell you how I interpreted them. Deal?

PS - allow me to say that I'm sorry if I've offended you but in my defense, the only opinion I have of you is formulated from how you portray yourself on this board. You can say a thousand times that you are not the type of person we think you are, but if you want us to believe you, which you apparently do, then your actions need to show us. It's not what you say but how you say it that counts.

That's pretty much what I'm seein'.

The funny thing is I don't disagree with some of CoP's takes on Favre. It isn't stupidity (although it's a fun barb to throw out), it's the simple fact that the posts CoP writes are meant to convince himself as much as us poor kool aid drinkers he "drops in on".
