Last week you could blame the offense, this week you can blame the defense. They are both new systems and will take time. It was a very tough loss today, but keep the faith and stay patient with coach McCarthy. The offense was much improved. I would have liked to see them run the ball more effectively, but maybe losing Spitz hurt more than we thought it would. I think the Packers will be much stronger in the second half of the season, but don't blame Mike McCarthy. Give him time to get his program up and running. Some people will be banging the boards and slamming him, but they are all a dime a dozen. Mike is the man. A win today would have been great, but supporting the team means supporting the coach too. Relax and be patient Packer fans....very patient!

Guess the hopefuls and the not-so-hopefuls will all have to just wait and see what develops.

I'm still waiting for one good reason to believe that McCarthy has what it takes to be a good head coach.

Yes, their secondary was bad today, but it is a team effort. The got very little pressure on Brees in the 2nd half...that's not Schottenheimer's fault.

No but I only say ONE play by the secondary in pass coverage the WHOLE game! And that was by Woodson who if had stayed on his feet, gone the distance with a TD.

I just can't bring myself to like the guy. Favre had one of his worse seasons with him as his QB coach, San Frans offense just totally sucked under him. I'm just not taking a liking to the guys demeanor or anything. toobad

Things that MM should take accountability for:

1. Stupid play calling - when NO stacks 8 or 9 guys in the box, and your HOF QB is hot, THROW THE BALL...
2. Why are you playing Poppinga? He's not ready.
3. Why is Ahmad Carroll even suiting up? He may be the worst DB since Estus Hood. It seems that EVERY time NO needed a play, they found #28 and threw his way with a lot of success. Colston is a rookie D7, and he humiliated Carroll repeatedly. Cut him now.

Not MM's fault:

1. When did Bubba turn so completely horse$****? It's as if he forgot how to catch a ball that hits his chest.
2. Green's obligatory ill-timed fumbles - when GB was good, they could overcome that, but not now.
3. Lack of overall talent - there's a lot of blame to share there, but none of it fairly falls on MM. Sherman was a disaster of a GM, and TT's picks haven't panned out yet, and it remains to be seen if they ever will.

Sorry Dicks, the defense is NOT new. It is the same that Bates ran. Difference is, Bates acting like a coach and Sanders more of a preacher man...

They threw the ball about 55 times today, what more do you want? Confused

I want them to take what the D gives them - if they give you 70 passes, then throw 70 passes instead of the stupid dives into the line for one yard...If they do that, then they'll be able to run better. It's not about stats, it's about tactics.

Two straight weeks where the secondary was torched by mediocre passing attacks. It looks very similar to what we saw under Slowik. Maybe there's a reason why Sanders has never been a coordinator before.

Yep and Miss. McCarthy preached ALL week about running the ball!

Thanks, TT for bringing in a true G during the off-season.

Save your job by CUTTING Christmas Tree Carroll.

This is the million dollar question that nobody can intelligently answer. He has zero HC experience and his track record as an OC is dismal at best. He headed the absolute worst offense in football last season. TT couldn't have made a worse choice from my vantage point.

The offense, with very little talent, has been more impressive than the high-priced defense so far. MM's biggest mistake was not hiring a proven DC. Keeping Sanders without Bates just made no sense.

2nd quarter:1 first down till the last minute

With 13-0 lead the Packers had two straight possessions where they didn't run the ball. I was at that moment that I decided the game was in doubt.
