All week 3 posts here. We'll start a new thread for each week. This way we won't have to wade through a gigantic thread by week #17 Smiler

WEEK 3

RB (pick 2):

Marion Barber @GB
Julius Jones StL
Larry Johnson @Atl
Justin Fargas @Buf
Darren Sproles NYJ

I'm benching Johnson. Barber is a start. For the second it's either Jones or Sproles. I'm leaning to Jones - he had a nice week 2 and the Rams are giving up over 150 yards rushing per game so far. If LT can go, that will limit Sproles' touches.

Opinions? I'm I giving up on LJ too soon?

After sitting Ahmad Bradshaw last Sunday, my Head Coach has been drawn, quartered and stuck on the 4 gates of my Fantasy Stadium. (My organization gets medieval on staff). Question: Ladell Betts or Ronnie Brown? Miami is going against NE this week, and that makes me nervous. I started Betts because the Deadskins are going against Arizona, which sort've seemed the safer bet.

OK, let the flaming commence. I'm ready for ya! flame

uh... None of the above?

Betts won't get enough carries as long as Portis is healthy.

Brown will get a few more, but he's stuck behind Ricky right now and the fish are so bad they can't afford to stick to their running game.

But between those two I'd use Brown.

(anyone in the free agent pool worth picking up?)

I just marched my GM out at gunpoint to find me an RB. He brought back Darren Sproles. We dropped Ronnie. Better?

I would take my chances with Sproles, LT is nursing a toe injury.

I would probably go with Barber and Jones too. Sproles could hit it big again, or he could get a goose egg if LT plays most of the game.

I'm doing so bad in my league that I have first choice off the waiver wire this week, so I'm struggling with whether or not to pick up Sproles or Hightower. Would anyone start either of them over Joseph Addai and Michael Turner? Confused (if it matters, my #3 RB is Laurence Maroney)

I'd really rather grab a WR (my #3 is Kevin Walter paperbag), although it's slim pickings with Justin Gage and Chansi Stuckey being about the only options. Eeker

Ray Rice. Ride the rookie until McGahee takes away his time - don't believe the pre-game reports.

I'd go Hightower - he's getting the goal line carries with a healthy Edge - if Edge gets hurt, he'll get everything. That said, don't bench Turner or Addai for Hightower.

I'd go with Gage. He is Tennessee's #1 WR and Collins is much better than Young. I think Stuckey will get lost in the mix when Favre gets used to Coles and when Clowney comes back from injury.

Meh. Unless Ricky Williams decides to get stoned or LT is declared out due to injury, both are kind of horse

The player I really have my eye on is Fred Jackson from Buffalo. The Bills appear to be a very strong team and Fred had 100 combined rushing/receiving yards vs. Jacksonville. The Bills' mammoth LT (Jason Peters) recently reported to the team after holding out and will only improve the Bills' offense.

Another player to keep an eye on is Michael Bush. If Fargas is hurt for any length of time, Bush could be another real sneaky pick-up.

I just traded LJ. Until the QB situation cures itself in KC, no RB will post good numbers. Go with Julie Jones - she is a better option to pair up with Barber.

Ray Rice baby! Ride that thoroughbred!

Gebins to you.
-------------

For Scott Catron:

Barber is obvious. He's a man-beast!

I'd start Julius Jones vs. St. Louis. He's going to get the bulk of the work plus the Seahawks have ZERO WR's. Jones is a good play this week.
-------------

Ok, I'm only going to give this out once.

Lamont Jordan is going to be a huge play in the next few weeks. Maroney is in Belichick's doghouse. I imagine Lamont Jordan is on plenty of waiver wires so get it in now!

Since the WR corps in Seattle is hurting, I guess I should start Matt Schaub rather than Hasslebeck

I'd stay away from all NE's RBs. Maroney, Morris, Jordan, Faulk, Sam Bam Cunningham....point being, how can you rely on any one RB with this team?

For post #1,000, you get the honors:

Rivers - no. The Jets were solid vs. the Patriots.
Warner - no. He might get sacked 10 times by Jason Taylor.
Favre - yes. Jay Cutler threw for 10,000 yards vs. San Diego last week.

My point is, if you're in a tough spot & if your choices are Ladell Betts, Ronnie Brown or Lamont Jordan vs Miami defense, I'm taking my chances on Jordan and/or Sammy Morris.

Matt Cassell pretty much sucks. The Patriots left a bunch of points/passing yards on the field vs. the Jets.
----------

For Liam:

Warner: No. I think he'll find passing vs. Washington is substantially more difficult than vs. the Dolphins.

Favre: No. Yes Cutler threw for a bunch of yards vs. S.D. but Favre doesn't have anyone resembling Brandon Marshall playing WR. I don't know if Mangenius is going to take the reins off Favre on MNF but I do know the Chargers desperately need a win to avoid going 0-3

Rivers: Yes I'd go with Rivers. He's been red hot and you don't sit the hot hand.

That's my pick. My 1 little caveat is I think the Jets will be behind and have to throw the ball. However, I see Favre throwing 1 or 2 INT's. Cromartie might get him.
----------

For Hauser:

Definitely start Schaub.

Hi there,

we can start 3 RBs and here's my group:

ADP
Addai
Grant
McFadden
BJax
Michael Bush
Chester Taylor

ADP is set in stone. But i am seriously considering benching either Addai or Grant. I would love to play RunDMC but his toe issue makes me wondering...

I also have Michael Bush who could very well be the starter for the Raiders this week... So please, besides ADP who should i start ?

Next is my receivers. I think i have more of a luxury problem there. Choose 3 out of these guys:

Greg Jennings (he's no lock for my lineup Big Grin )
Dwayne Bowe
AGonz
Ocho Cinco (benched him last week and intend to do it again)
DeSean Jackson
Coles
Ginn Jr.

I am leaning towards a group consisting of Jennings, Bowe and Jackson... but AGonz had a very strong showing last week against the Vikings..

Thanks for your advice in advance. cheers

Favre didn't even get 200 yds against the Dolphins while Warner threw for over 350 and 3 TDs against them. I'd keep riding Warner until he proves otherwise.

I have Warner and am starting him in 2 leagues.

Stefan:

You have good problems. Can I join your league next year so you have some competition? Smiler It's a little early in the week to give a decent prediction but I'll throw some out for now. Check back with me on Friday once the injury report comes out.

ADP / Addai / Grant

That's who I'd go with for now

Jennings (LOCK)
Bowe
A-Gonz

I'll say this. There will be a week that Ocho Stinko breaks out with Carson Palmer but probably not this week vs. the Giants. You're going to have to find the matchup when Cinci snaps out of it because that's too much talent to not score.

Been making some trades so I have a pretty good team now thanks to a solid draft and cunning, Fantasy Football god like trades Wink.

So, WDIS? PPR league I can start 2 RB, 2 WR and a flex.

RBs - Steve Jax @ Seattle; Michael Turner vs KC, Marshawn Lynch vs Oak. Honestly I can't see benching any of these guys, given matchups. Even as bad as Jackson and the Rams have been. My other backs are McFadden and Perry.

WRs - Larry Fitzgerald @ Was; Andre Johnson @ Ten; Calvin Johnson @ SF. I guess I am going with Larry and Calvin. Tough to sit Andre but that's the breaks. Open to suggestions. Other WR are DeSean Jackson.

I'm hoping Turner has another big game then I can try and trade him and one of my WR for a top 5 RB.

QB is Cutler. I traded Roethlisberger and Driver for Andre Johnson. His QB situation was awful with Brady out and Hasselbeck garbage now that he had no WR to throw to.
