Remind me of all the satisfaction you got during the period of 1967 through 1992 that the Packers failed to score a single TD in the post season of after a full regulation season... Roll Eyes

Well I guess you may have had some satisfaction by beating the VIKINGS or the Bears in one of your four annual SB's during that stretch...

If you truly believe that the majority of VIKINGS fans feel that JA guarantees us a SB in 2008, than you are even more misguided than the minority of VIKINGS fans that actually do believe what you claim.

There are veteran QBs still unsigned. A motley crew to be sure, but there are guys out there.

I stand corrected...Smiler

A late round pick regardless, and still a long shot to see any playing time in the next couple of years - if ever - for the VIKINGS.

Motley... A good take on what is out there...Wink

I've defended Gus Frerotte as a veteran backup, but at the same time I'm not going to sit here and claim he's night and day versus unsigned veterans like Trent Dilfer, Byron Leftwich, and a couple of other guys. They're all players who have had some success now and again, and yet were available for a reason.

Glad you got us all figured out.

Had to bring this back from page 2. I live right here in the middle of Viking land and if you are trying to portray yourself as the "normal" Viking fan, with realistic expectations of the upcoming season, as opposed to the "exception" who think the Vikings are Superbowl bound you'll have to bring it somewhere else where people have no interaction with Minnesota fans. Fact is that nearly every one of my Viking fan friends or family members think MN is an automatic lock for at the very least the NFC Championship game.

These are all fairly rational people in every aspect of life minus the Vikings, but every year I get to hear how they won the off-season Super Bowl. If you want to paint yourself as one of the rational, exception to the norm, Vikings fans that's fine, but to try to paint MN fans overall as a level-headed group who doesn't think Allen=Super Bowl you are delusional. Try turning on KFAN anytime between 7AM and Noon or 7PM to 9PM. Hell even between Noon and 7 some of these fans try to call in only to get brought back to earth by Common, Hartman, or Berreiro.

p.s. As an aside, my favorite thing ever is when Studwell did the interview after the '05 draft and stated the agents for undrafted free agents weren't even calling the Vikings because they had such a deep roster and stellar draft. There was no room on that team for an undrafted free agent. Marcus Johnson certainly made it all worthwhile.

Thank you for this, Diggler. This is the case. Jared Allen=SuperBowl to most of these fans. It's a mania. Just watch that YouTube of Herschel...All those fans chanting... We want Herschel... We want Herschel. I lived there when that happened. There was a sense Minnesota was going to hoist the Lombardi because he arrived. This trade came on the heels of the Twins miraculous World Series victory. The cities were still drunk on that and believed this signified the NFL version of what happened in MLB. Now, that the Twins have won it twice the fans in the area believe that same magic applies to their football franchise and it simply doesn't. The dome is not a place of magic for their football team but rather curses. Gary Anderson wide from inside 40 for the first time in his career should prove that.

As a Green Bay fan who had to live around this non-sense nearly all of my young life I've tired of what I've witnessed. It's always the same with these purple fans...always. No matter what they do there is always rejoicing in the streets pre-season. Reality sets in during the season and they make every excuse in the book only to start popping off around draft time and then all the way until the actual season.

We rarely have anything to hail in the off-season but our seasons give us some satisfaction. I'll take it our way vs. theirs.

Guess will have to agree to disagree on this. I think more Viking fans are pessemistic vs. optimistic. I find many doubting and not giving enough credit, even after off season moves. Many Viking fans still don't think we have a QB.

I see the Vikings as having two major problems (many minor ones Wink). Biggest concern to address in the off season was pass defense. I think they did pretty well there with a nice DE and back field upgrades through free agency and the draft.

Second biggest concern (to me) was QB. I still haven't given up on Jackson. Kid's only started one year. Brought Ferrotte back (can play if needed) and drafted another project in Booty. Somebody's going to work out eventually (aren't they?).

QB is important but team means more. The 2008 Vikings are a better team than the 2007 Vikings.

Good things could happen if Jackson continues to develop and I dunno, gets better.

Not predicting anything like a super bowl. As always though, can't wait for the season to start!

The only difference between the Vikings and the Titanic was they (the Titanic) had a band. The Titanic was the ultimate bandwagon - couldn't wait to get on, getting off was ugly.

Therefore bandwagons are to be avoided at all costs. In the NFL bandwagon fans are drifters - won't be there when things get tough.

The only way I'll jump on some teams bandwagon is if they PAY me to do so. Money talks .....
