For those that have no idea what atticus is refering to :
http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnor...iams-wall-resolution The U.S. Court of Appeals in Minnesota has indicated it will issue an important ruling this week, one that likely will determine whether the players miss the Vikings’ first four games or if they’re in the clear until the end of the season. |

Not likely, since he's on the MN Supreme Court.

This ruling has to come in the next day or two.
They have had it since Aug 18? I've been trying to check all sources for the past week. There is NO WAY that the Federal Court rules in favor of the Williams Sisters. |

I pray you're right, PackerRuss. If nothing else, it would reinforce belief in our judicial system, which has been in question since the O.J. debacle. Even so, I expect the court to allow them to serve their suspensions at different times in order to minimize any negative effect to the team.

I'm not sure this whole thing is worth getting so upset over. Yes, I believe they were using this as a masking agent and that they should get some type of punishment - no player has an excuse that he didn't know what he ingested was an illegal substance. However, I would rather beat the Queens at full strength so there are no excuses for their sorry arses at the end of the season.

Agreed with the full strength/no excuses point, but I'd rather GB's division rivals not be allowed to juice. Going to these lengths to slither out from under the same rules everyone else has to follow is shameful. Being enabled by a homer judge is even worse.
Even if the Williams boys are allowed to play and if GB beats the Queenies twice, we've all seen enough of these games to know that there will be excuses flowing like a river both times, regardless of reality. |

I once had a lawyer tell me, "The truth always comes slithering to the top." I hope he is right in this case.

I hope the Williams' win the case. Star Caps are diet pills, not steroids. The rules committee has gone over board with their list of banned substances.

How do you figure? Controlling what guys getting paid insane amounts of money can put into their bodies to gain unfair advantages seems perfectly logical to me. Banning something that can be used to mask a more serious agent makes complete sense. I doubt the sisters were trying to slim down for Dancing With the Stars. |

Crappy thing would be, which is likely to happen... one of them get hurt, than that said poosy drops his lawsuit and serves the suspension while hurt.
I see them trying to play it that way. I doubt they actually think they will win the suit. |

I don't know. If I were the Williamses I would be feeling fairly optimistic at this point. Not sure if the league could nix the suspension being served while healing up from an injury or not. |

from NFP
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) An NFL spokesman says Minnesota Vikings defensive tackles Kevin and Pat Williams will play in the season-opener at Cleveland this weekend, regardless of what happens with their court case this week. The players are challenging a four-game suspension handed down for violating the league's drug policy. Neither is accused of taking steroids, and the case is tied up in court. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Tuesday that even if the court rules for the NFL, the suspensions will not begin this weekend. |

FWIW I heard Florio on the radio tonight. He was saying he expects the Saints guys to have to serve their suspensions but the Queens guys probably will get off the hook due to MN law. He is a real atterny.

Im not a lawyer, nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express recently, but I highly doubt that some will be suspended and some not due to state laws. Not going to happen.

exactly... I'm still holding out hope that Badall makes it a 5 game suspension just for trying to bypass the NFL Labor Contract. Badall must do something to punish them for circumventing the process...if he doesn't, then expect every player to pursue the same course...knowing there won't be any extra penalty. this will be a test case for Badall. |

If the commish tries to tack on an extra game because these guys took it to court... it's going to go right back to the court and Roger will get his butt handed to him, unless I'm missing the part of the collective bargaining agreement that lets Goodell arbitrarily extend suspensions because he doesn't like players exercising their legal options. |

They have no legal options. It's a privelege to play in the NFL not a right. You follow their rules or go find another job. It's clearly stated in the CBA.
This is nothing but 2 A-holes who think they can circumvent the CBA using state laws. It's disgusting. We have other players in the league who are already serving their suspensions for the same issue. |
