Harvin falls ill -- again

June 29, 2009 8:05 PM

Posted by ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert

I'll submit this nugget without comment, at least for now. Minnesota receiver Percy Harvin departed the NFL's rookie symposium in South Florida because he was ill, according to Steve Wyche of NFL.com.

Harvin reported as required on Sunday but organizers recommended he leave after he reported his symptoms. His ailment was not specified in the NFL.com story.

Harvin's departure raises to the level of noteworthiness only because it's continues an eventful offseason for the No. 22 overall pick of the draft. He reportedly tested positive for marijuana use at the scouting combine in February and then missed the Vikings' rookie minicamp after falling ill while in transit to the Twin Cities. Doctors diagnosed him with a virus and severe dehydration at the time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sooo....

Any taker's as to what his "illness" was this time Question

Um ya, if I was the Queens, I'd be counting those red flags.

No bother--Minnesota doesn't even need him. They have such a talented team already, Harvin was just icing on the cake.

Old adage for the Vikings; a sea of red flags does not a parade make.

- shows up high to combine
- already one strike in substance program
- leaves OTA 'ill'
- kicked out of symposium 'ill'

kick ass!

He didn't even show up for OTA's.

I'd like to know what some of our Viking posters honestly think of this guy. We all know he's a dynamic player who is a threat to score but what do you HONESTLY think?

Do we all remember the "love" one Brent Favre showed for Robert Furgerson when he arrived with a 'tude and poor work ethic his rookie year?

With TOG's history of taking young WR's under his wing, Harvin should be sitting pretty in '09.

sarcasm haha2

What do you expect from a guy with the frst name of Percy.

Seems to get sick every time he travels, what a pussy.

Methinks he'll only be playing home games from here on out.

If I was a Viking WR and looking at the list of current Viking QBs I'd be sick too. Add in the prospect of TOG and I'd get sicker.

I hope he's able to make it to the end of the game without leaving the field.
Poor kid probably has a nervous stomach.

How is it the Vikes keep bombing in the first round? Remember the bi-polar DE? What about that big name WR that was going to replace Randy Moss? Adrian Peterson was one of the best first rounders they've taken in decades...

Dimitrius Underwood - DE
Troy Williamson - WR & Erasmus James (in the same year, passing on Aaron Rodgers TWICE!)

Yeah it's a shame the Vikings drafted such an outstanding, high character guy like Adrian. Completely out of Viking character too.

Thats funny about them passing on Rodgers....course just about every other team did to...but they managed to do it twice as starved as they have been at the position.

Some Pack fans do not realize just how good we have it with Rodgers....Going from one franchise QB to another.

The vikes also passed on Greg Jennings twice too, opting instead for CB Cedric Griffin and C Ryan Cook, who they took one slot ahead of Jennings.

The vikes could be sitting there with the Williams Wall on defense and Rodgers, Jennings and Peterson on offense.

Thank goodness the vikes are so inept on draft days and suck the other 363 days too.

Cook and Griffin are decent players. I don't know if that is a good example.
