Jaguars Reportedly to Acquire Williamson

Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings have agreed in principle to trade WR Troy Williamson to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a second-day pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. The trade cannot become official until 11 p.m. CST Thursday, Feb. 28.



Nice value on that top 10 pick.

Hmmmmmm.....that level of draft pick failure is usually reserved for the Bears.

Because the Jaguars really needed yet another receiver who can't catch.

That was the first thing that I thought. The Jaguars? Just what they needed, another first round receiver bust.

I guess there is still a chance that Williamson could blossom, but frankly he has been horrible to this point. But you never know, maybe the new environment will do Williamson good. Nonetheless, I don't think the Vikings were ever going to get anything out of him and it was probably best for them to get whatever they could get for him.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they go wide receiver/wide receiver with their first two picks. Maybe wide receiver/tight end. Tavares Jackson has hardly lit up the world, but in defense of that guy the Vikings probably do have the poorest set of pass-catchers in the NFL.

Tice must have given a ringing endorsement to Del Rio.

Maybe he'll be another Cris Carter or Robert Ferguson type success story.
