If the Bears D can regain some late game composure I don't see why we can't rule the division for the next 4-5 years.

Cutler will hopefully invigorate our D to perform again at a higher level. With Cutler, Matt Forte, Greg Olsen and Devin Hester all just got better. Our O-Line has improved from a D+ grade to a B- grade through the offseason and while they aren't great, I believe we have enough tools to get the job done.

9-7 last year with Orton/Grossman.

Easily 11-5 with Cutler and Forte.

Try reading the article first buddy boy.

It must be hard to read when you can't accept the fact that you finished with a 6-10 record while the Bears finished two games higher with crappy QB's and a rookie RB.

How has that O-line improved?
How is that defense that was suspect last year and is now a year older gonna stop one of the NFL's top offense's?

Who is Cutler gonna throw to? Oh yeah Hester. ROFL2

I'll give you Forte, but that's about it.

The O-Line has improved. Isn't hasn't improved by a lot but it has gotten better.

Devin Hester was in his first year playing WR last year full time and he nearly had 800 yards recieving with a horrible combination of Orton and Grossman throwing to him. It's not hard to figure how he could get better.

Greg Olsen and Desmond Clark come to mind as other potential recievers.

I would be a bit worried about transitioning to a new Defensive scheme. It's going to take at least a year before you're top 10 in the league. You're young on D but that doesn't mean squat.

6-10 with a first year starting QB.
6-10 with Harris, Jenkins, Hawk, Barnett all banged up or missing large chunks of the season.
6-10 with Grant getting off to a slow start due to missing camp and a bad Hammy.

Defense should be full strength plus added some very good young talent in Raji and Matthews.
Best WR corp in the NFL. Grant at full strength. Rodgers a full year under his belt.

Who did the Bears draft in the 1st this year? Wonder who they'll draft in the 1st next year?
Enjoy the view from the bottom.....if you're lucky you won't be starring up at Detroit's azzes all season.

1. Excuse.
2. Every team has injury issues-get over it. Remember the dig aobut our S's? How about Grossman subbing for Orton? Barf!
3. Injuries again.

Draft picks are hit and miss. You should know that very well since Justin Harrell has been hitting the beaches in Maui the past couple of years.

Ok I read the article. The first thing I noticed is that Cutler looks like a kid who just lost his puppy. Probably because he is thinking "Devin Hester is my #1 WR. Devin f'ing Hester!"

That receiving corp would make any QB's nuts shrivel up to the size of raisins. ROFL2

I can hear the conversation between Lovie and Cutler already; "Coach....I don't think we're calling enough running plays."

That's a mighty big IF there to simply gloss over as you have done.

I hope your "improved O-Line" is ready because they are going to be tested Sept 13th Sunday Night

No, it was with Michael Haynes, I think.

B.J. Raji is a DT. DT's generally are big people, as other are linemen on both sides of the football. Therefore, compared to other players, he is "fat." (Although not in the scientific sense which is probably above your critical thinking level).

Your offensive line is still far below average and your defense was nearly as bad as ours was last season. People who are making all of these bigtime predictions for the Bears seem to think they still have their '05-06 defense (As evidenced in some articles and Bears forums I've glanced at). Aside from signing a 13 year veteran to play LT and having Lovie take over the gameday decisions on defense (With the exact same system and same players), they haven't done a thing to address those problems. We'll all see how awesome Cutler looks when he doesn't have a Pro Bowler laden offense to help him out. Hester looks awful on offense, and he's your biggest outside threat. I can't say I'd be shocked if the Bears did win more games in '09, but it's a joke to see every Bears fan and media drone out there giving them the division when they've done almost nothing to improve their biggest weaknesses.

wow. Did you not watch Cutler at all last year? 18 INTs, middle of the league in rating..... all in a better offense?

the Orton to Cutler upgrade is smaller than people want to believe. Hes better physically, but mentally hes a 12 year old.

This is a team that we were a chip shot fg away from sweeping, after a 38-6 beatdown. So you wont find anyone in Titletown afraid of a QB who was statistically way down the ladder from our own.

All this hype over an average QB (quit with the pro bowl stuff. Rivers is 10x the qb Jay will ever be) is kinda funny.

In today's NFL, 11-5 never happens "easily". The margin between 11-5 and 7-9 is a couple bad bounces, poor officiating and the health of your team. As unpredictable and parity-filled as the league is, I expect every team (outside of the Patriots) would take 11-5 in a heartbeat going into the season. I know I sure as hell would.
