Good Stuff Maynard
I did check out your cap page a few days ago as I was looking to see how long we had C. Holiday signed for and for how much his contract was worth. Am I blind or is Holiday missing from the list of Packers. Because I could not find him there |

So I asked cpheph1 the same question about Cullen Jenkins
Where is Cullen Jenkins on the page?
As he receives accurate information he will update the cappage. Hang in there! |

Carlyle Holiday is a pending ERFA (Exclusive Rights Free Agent). For a complete list of Packers' pending FAs use this link:packers.com |

Thanks dude! WRT other stuff...Al Harris' extension, I don't really care why it happened...just that it did. Money always matters but it's also a game they love to play! Al never struck me to be a MMcK type except for his on-field play (but Al's *much* better). The Packers have quite the starting CB duo IMO...both are obviously pro-bowl quality. I'm not sure what effect Al's contract extension will have on the 2007 cap but surmise it'll be at least an additional 1-2 million. On a side-note for the cap, John Clayton had the Packers $24.1m under as of 9 Feb (before the Al Harris extension). At this point, I cannot reconcile my difference with him...my WAG was $26.1m under (before Al's extension). Here's Kiper's draft projections as of 7 Feb. I could live with Marshawn Lynch at #16 and wtf knows whether he'll be available...I certainly don't! I'd also be pleased with a WR or DB @16... and turning those positions into names, I have: Jarett, Bowe, Rice, Reggie Nelson, Leon Hall, Meachem, and Revis. If none of those guys are there then I try like hell to move down and get additional picks...or even move down if Lynch is available because both Tennessee and the NYG probably would like to add Lynch to their roster; maybe extract a 2nd, certainly a 3rd round pick from them. Sorry the formatting (below) looks AFU but it's a cut'n'paste job (& I can't paste the link). cpheph1 (begin excerpt) (Note: a coin flip between the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will determine which team has the third pick and which team has the fourth choice.) Hey guys,
I'm new to the site and I like the cap page. However, did you guys list Colin Cole's salary and cap hit? Just wondering why he's not there. |

My guess is because he is an exclusive rights FA??? Earlier this year Cullen Jenkins wasn't on the list either (before he signed his contract) and cpheph told me that was why. If you scroll to the very bottom of the cappage (or top of the cap forum) you can e-mail cpheph1 directly. He's the cap guru. Simply click on the cpheph1/cap guy photo. |

Well, I'm sure most everybody has read McGinn's article (('Packers want DT Williams to stay')) posted on 14 March...he says the Pack is $21.757m under. I obviously didn't see that article until after I made my update WAGs. I have almost a $1.5m difference with his number and no clue where/how to reconcile it. I've sent him an email and spreadsheet asking for clarification. I'm not holding my breath for a response... |

Check out cpheph1's update. He e-mailed Bob McGinn and I guess Bob said he couldn't reveal where the extra $1.5 million. Bob stated it was "too confidential". I thought that was interesting.
Anyway, an update as of March 22nd (yesterday) |

While it might seem over-the-top I truly believe it's extraordinary how well TT has kept his own good players while managing the cap and acquiring talent.
We're talking about a solid team that still has $11M+ in cap space. Their only noteworthy UFA's to be would be Donald Lee and Corey Williams. Surprisingly, even after '08 you're talking Tauscher and Poppinga as the only guys due up. Sure, if Bigby keeps playing well he'll get a long-term deal, maybe Jolly and others; but overall GB's core is locked up and apparently happy. What a difference a competent GM and a few years makes on so many levels. That's not a bash either - I just don't think the two jobs were ever meant to be done by one guy. |

Yup! Which is why many of us are clamoring for his signing. Quite frankly, I'll be surprised if he isn't re-signed. |
