good guy, hard not to like Seth.

I noticed he thanks just about everyone. He did skip one name.......

Did Milwaukee want nothing to do with him, or just didn't want to pay him what he would get in arby? I'm guessing if he is willing to get paid a little less, they would welcome him back.

If the Brewers have any interest in him at all could depend on the health of Vargas' elbow. If Vargas could start games, that give the Brewers two swing man types in Villanueva and Vargas and then they probably don't have a spot for McClung at all.

"They brought in a different manager. There was so much positive for me there. I don't want to talk about my relationship with Ken Macha."

so not thanking Ken wasn't an accidental omission.

"They just cut ties," said McClung. "They said they had no desire for a non-roster situation. Outside of that, everything was positive with my star there. I enjoyed being a Brewer."

this surprises me. Red sounds like he was ready to work things out. He may not have been the greatest pitcher, but when they didn't mess around with moving him into the starting rotation, he was serviceable. Very curious situation.

I can't remember the exact situation but wasn't there a game when he McClung was getting shelled and Macha was about step out and get him and instead McClung quick pitched the guy to stay in the game and gave up a big hit? We didn't see too much of Seth after that. It doesn't sound like that situation ever resolved itself.

Seth had some outstanding moments. He also had some bad moments. I guess I just don't see this as much of a loss.

I'd forgotten about that, but I do remember what you are talking about. Seth was getting shelled and Ken was about to step out when Red threw a pitch. IIRC, he did get the guy out on a screamer to CF, but that might be a contributing factor to the broken relationship (I could also be remembering it wrong).

I wish the two of them would set aside their differences and think about the children.

Mike Rivera and Mark DiFelice also not tendered contracts. Kind of puzzled regarding Rivera, as the move only saves them about 600k according to my estimates. But Haudricourt seems to think that Macha didn't like him.

Also sounds like a Counsell deal will be done Monday and a Vargas deal will follow shortly.

I think at that point the Brewers will be out of money, and will probably have to deal someone like Bush or Hart to make any further additions.

I would guess Lucroy makes the roster and depending on how he does he and Zaun would split time about 50/50. Salome has a chance too but it sounds like Lucroy has passed Salome on the organizational chart. But you wouldn't figure the Brewers would have Lucroy or Salome on the roster and give Zaun 120 starts and the rookie 40 starts...you'd think they'd want to give the young player the at-bats.

Zaun is a switch hitter but his three year stats show that he's much better as a left-handed bat. So maybe Salome will get the MLB roster spot and be a backup, and Lucroy could play everyday at AAA.

Gabe Gross was cut loose by Tampa, maybe Melvin brings him back for bench depth.
