The spring training roster is certainly starting to take shape. I heard an interview with Gord Ashe talking about Gomez in center field as being an upgrade from Cameron. I'm curious if anyone has seen Gomez play enough to know if that might true?

At this point of Cameron's career, Gomez is definitely an upgrade defensively. He won't be nearly the offensive contributor that Cameron was. You might be able to go as far as saying that offensively he's not any better than Jason Kendall.

Outside of adding a reserve outfielder from outside the organization, I think the Brewers are pretty much done adding players. They need another reliever and I would guess Chuck Lofgren or John Axford would have the inside track on that. They need another infielder which would probably be Adam Heether. They need another catcher which will probably be George Kottaras, Matt Treanor, Jonathan Lucroy or Angel Salome. So I think they are pretty much done outside of adding another outfielder.

That starting staff is not good enough yet.

Sure its good enough to start games BUT it is going to eat-up that bullpen again as it stands ...

Mulder...Sheets...

someone please. Sheets: Give him a bonus laden contract that could pay him up to 12M if he starts 37 games and keeps his ERA below 3.75. Give him a 5M base and go from there.. assuming your medical checks him out and he is throwing with the velocity/movement he had in the past.
