Just took a looking back at the season and it looks like I was wrong. I was originally against the trade thinking that Yi would have somewhat a break-out year and be a 14/7 kinda guy with the potential to eventually get to be a 20/10 guy. Sure he could still do that but, this past season is no indication that will be anything more than a role player.

Yi Jianlian 8.6 ppg 5.3 rpg
Bobby Simmons 7.8 ppg 3.9 rpg

Richard Jeff. 19.6 ppg 4.6 rpg

Sure seems to me that the Bucks got the better of this trade.

I hated the Yi pick when the Bucks made it because he just didn't seem all that interested in playing in Milwaukee. Now it appears he aint very tough and isn't all that interested in playing in the NBA period. Shocking that he's been pretty much a bust up to this point.

At least they got Jefferson in return for him and he's had a pretty decent year for the Bucks. Too bad the rest of the team got banged up and couldn't play because they would have made the playoffs had Bogut and Redd stayed healthy.

Better end of the deal - yes. But his contract, along w/ Redd's, is killing the Bucks.

Making the playoffs would have been a nice feather in the cap but they would have likely been blown out in the first round.

With little chance for major change, expect more of the same next season.

Don't forget they also dumped Simmons contract on top of that bust of a pick (Yi) so I don't think it was really that bad of a deal even if they took back some salary with Jefferson. He actually played pretty well this year for Milwaukee.

I expect a big change next season. I expect some of the young guys to continue to improve and stepup....i.e. Sessions, Moute (sp?), J. Alexander and others, as well as Bogut and Redd being healthy plus adding a draft pick.

I don't think they are that far away from being a really good team. Especially with Skiles.

All things being equal, if the Bucks have a healthy Redd and Bogut, there is no way they'll be a 34 win team.

The decisions that need to be made are regarding Villanueva and Sessions. It's going to be an interesting off-season for Hammond, because there are things he can do. He'll have some options. The lottery will be the first step- once they find out where they are drafting, they'll be able to make the successive steps.
