I just read a recent article on JS and saw the speculation that with Redd's injury and contract the team may be forced to move. My question is where? In this economy who would pay big $ for an NBA team? What city has the facility in place that would be NBA worthy and a large fan base crying for a team? NBA guaranteed contracts are the problem. How could Kohl give 1/2 a billion in player contracts over last decade & half? The # is astonishing. How many championships do the Bucks have? Seems to me the economy that has hit the poor, middle class & retirees hard is finally hitting the super rich. As painful as it has been for Americans (my family included) maybe it's time for financial responsibility in sports, Yankee's be damned!

I absolutely refuse to believe that Michael Redd's injury on top of his big contract would be the "last straw" that would cause the Bucks to move. There have been a lot of things wrong with the Bucks franchise for a while and if they've survived without moving this long, I don't think Redd's injury of all things is going to force them to move. Injured or not he was getting the money all along. He is now just getting more overpaid than he was before. A move by the Bucks would be minimally caused by an injury to a mediocre "superstar" like Redd.

Howard's article was pure horsesh*t. Somehow this is all supposed to be put on the Bucks fans for a poorly run franchise?

We should feel sorry about the $500M that Kohl has paid out- have the Bucks suddenly stopped drawing fans? How much has the franchise increased in value since Kohl bought it? Ho bought the franchise for $18M. That's right, $18M. It is now worth $278M.

So on the backs of paying fans, since 1985, the value of a franchise increased by $260M, and we're supposed to feel sorry for him?

And why exactly have the Bucks been bad? The owner doesn't know who to hire, that's why. Since Kohl bought the team, they have a 46.8% winning percentage. They have had 9 different coaches since Kohl ousted Nelson out of town. He's employed 5 general managers. They have won the lottery twice and in both times, they failed to land a true franchise player. Who is at fault?

The Bucks fans are as loyal as any. Put a good product on the floor and they'll come out to see you. They have had one year where they mattered, and they set franchise attendance records.

Music, are there cities looking for the NBA that have facilities & fans? Do the Bucks have options?

Kansas City. The Sprint Center downtown is brand spanking new. Seats 18,500 and has 72 suites.

Didn't KC already have one team leave? The old Cincinati Royals moved there then left for lack of support.

I am pretty sure the Sacramento Kings were based in KC at one point in time

They were. They started out as the Cincinnati Royals, moved to KC in the early 70's and became the Kings. Fan support was lacking, so they became a 2 town team, the Kansas City-Omaha Kings, splitting their home games between the 2 cities, until 1975 when they left Omaha. They moved to Sacramento in 1985.

Louisville is another possibility. They have a new arena opening in 2010.

Junior Bridgeman has often been talked about as a possible owner, or part of a group of owners, to buy the Bucks. The thinking is since he played here he would keep the team here.

But Bridgeman's hometown is Louisville and he's on the board of directors of the Louisville Arena Authority, who of course are in charge of building the arena.
