yeah, ill set it up. I'll just not get kicked out of x4 anymore... so it will run smooth.

Remember the keeper thing will go like this. Wherever the guy was drafted last year... If you want to keep him you have to spend the pick he was drafted at -2.

For your top 4 picks you may keep 2 of them... they would assume your 1st and 2nd round picks. If you only keep 1, then it would assume the corresponding pick. The 4th pick would take your 2... and 1-3 would take your 1.

The draft order will be worst to first based on regular season standings from last season. No snake draft. It will be round by round.

Once you register, please select the All-Time link and figure out the players you will be keeping. I will double check the round they will be taking from your draft, but if you could include the round pick that they will be assuming, please do.

Diggr,

Why not run the draft through Yahoo? According to http://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/2008/nba/features?lid=15639

you can set up keepers and a custom draft order:

Keeper Leagues

* Build your dynasty by keeping your best players each season
* Salvage a down year by trading for next year's stars
* Assign keepers to teams before your league's live draft

Custom Draft Order

Take full control of your live online draft. Choose a snaking or non-snaking draft order. Allow owners to trade draft picks. Let teams pick more than once per round. Set your league's draft order based on your own custom keeper rules.

That way if I can't make it I can pre-rank and have yahoo do my picks.

Make sure you look at last year's draft and not your finishing roster.

Also - there was an issue with streaming players in the playoffs last year.

Instead of a total number of transactions for the year, we could set a maximum number of moves each week. Set it to two per week and there can't be any streaming.

ok, or I can re-set the transactions during the playoffs to 5.

That should solve the problem.

Diggr...

I think you need to clarify what round people are giving up for free agent pickups of players who initially were drafted. I see some players in people's keeper lists that I can't believe weren't drafted.

Whatever the intent was, I'm fine with it. I thought that if we pick up a FA, they are a FA to us, regardless of if/where drafted.

I am confused (nothing new here). If you can only keep 2 of your top 4 players how come I see 3 of you with 3 kept from your top 4 rounds? Is the ranking (top 4) by draft result from last year? How are we ranking the top 4?

It's based on the draft from last year. You can keep 2 of your top 4 picks from last year if you wish. But they assume your 1 and 2 spots in the draft this year.

Diggr,

Here's the other key question. If we picked up a drafted player as a FA and want to keep him, do we give up his original draft slot -2, or can we put him at pick 12 (as a FA pick-up).

I (naturally) would argue that we should get the benefit of seeing value that others may have missed, just as when you make a good low draft pick.

There's lots of ways to argue this. I really see your point, but these are the rules that I copied from another league to start this one last season. I hear your argument though, but I think this is most fair.

Two of your top 4. Okay then why do you have 3 of your top 4? You have indicated that you want to keep round 1, round 2 and round 4. Seems pretty simple.
