Lost is back again ..... that was a very interesting episode last night. There seems to be a game of "chess" being played between Widmore and Benjamin Linus. There were a few references to the actual game of chess last night. Ben called his daughter a "pawn". Ben asked John Locke to stay close to him .. could John be a "bishop" perhaps? John is usually a man of faith, so it might make some sense. Mr. Eko was killed off long ago, but could have have maybe been Ben's 2nd bishop, or perhaps one of Widmore's bishops? Ben also was perplexed because the "rules were changed". It seems clear there is a high stakes game being played between Widmore and Ben. I found the episode very interesting.

Last night was a snoozer IMO. The Jack-Kate-Sawyer menage saga is just so played out. What did we learn? The physicist has the hots for the redhead, and the redhead speaks Korean. Jack's appendicitas and surgery seemed like a big time waster. The ship's captain and his band of mercenary men have suddenly decided to come ashore and go hunting for whoever they can shoot.

Next week's looks promising though. Jacob arrives.....

so do you think that everyone who is dead/was dead on the island that was not buried, is a ghost? Jacks fathers body was never found right? That Asian dude sensed the bodies as they were nto totally buried. Probably a reach

On the Jack Kate thing:

Can't say I had a problem with it. THey showed they hooked up off the island, but had a falling out.

I was wondering if Jacks surgery will ultimately lead to Clair and Jack finding out that they have the same father. Perhaps Jack will need a blood transfusion and Clair is being lead to the beach by their father in order to save him...

I think there is more time travelling going on than what we currently understand. The ghost like appearances have the ability to touch and be touched.

When this show concludes, it would be intersting to watch all the scenes in all the episodes aligned in the proper time sequence.

I agree, time traveling is more prevalent than we've been led to believe. I saw a transcript of the conversation between the two arabs and they mentioned something like "how'd he get here, their are no tracks"..that whole thing with Benjamin and Widmore is going to come into play big time soon.

I wonder if they would ever do that in a special extras DVD. It would be awesome.

I'm now pretty sure that before Claire dies, she and Jack know they are related, and Claire gives Aaron to Jack because he is a blood relative. But, Jack can't bare to take him because of some kind of guilt. He ultimately gives him up to Kate, because obviously Kate is the only person he trusts--this was evident when he wanted Kate in the surgery tent. At any rate, Claire's days are numbered...

Miles intrigues the hell out of me. I can't wait to learn more details on why this group was picked.

Jin is becoming one of my favorite characters. I think he legitimately had the redhead scared he would compromise the mission if something happened to that little weasely freak Cpl. Upham (Daniel).

So...we've got what, 3 episodes left for this season?

He's in the middle of the Sahara wearing a parka and unclear on what year it is. You don't need the transcript to know he's just appeared there out of thin air.

Claire and Aaron have been separated; that was the point of the last scene. I don't think they're going to get back together and then Claire's going to give him away. I think she's going to be just vanished, missing and presumed dead, which is why Kate ends up having to take Aaron off the island. But I don't think she's going to "die," or at least be confirmed that way this season.

I love the four freighter folk. Great characters and actors.

I think there are three weeks of shows but four total hours - two-hour season finale.

I think Claire is dead, however, that island is full of surprises.

True dat. While I don't believe the writers partially make it up as they go, it must be pretty wild to write having the flexibility to not be chained to realistic logic. It dawned on me the day after last week's episode, it was father and daughter in the cabin. That must have some significance.

Of course, I'm probably completely wrong Smiler.

You nailed that one BND.

So much happened last night. Wow. The island is a little like the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - step thru a portal into another realm. Flip a switch, move a land mass. I wonder who the bigger villain will turn out to be - Widmore or Ben, or maybe Jacob?

I had been starting to lose interest since the past several shows were pretty average, but last night's was a good one. Sucked me right back in!

I wonder where that island will turn up next? Big Grin

Jack? I suppose anything could happen. I wonder if the island might not necessarily be an island. Of course it's not a typical island to begin with. But what I mean is, whatever weird science is going on, now that it has been moved, does it have to be an island in the ocean somewhere, or could it end up being a hidden "zone" somewhere on land, maybe deep in the Amazon or a similarly remote place. And with the time travelling business, I wonder if the deaths of previous losties might not all be undone when the show wraps up. There has to be some significance in that the supposed ghosts can touch, feel the living.
