When the show first came on, I watched it every week... For whatever reason, I discontinued... Back a month back or so, they began running the ads for Lost so that prompted my curiosity..... I watched the season premire last week and yesterdays show.... And to tell you the truth, I'm lost... as I should be... Anyone else watching it and have any ideas where this show is headed or what the show is about?
Thanks, "R" |

Didn't you watch the summation show before the season premiere last week? Where did you leave off? Season 2? 3?

This season has some potential. I thought last year's finale was spectacular with the 'flash forward' element and I think it will carry over to this year.

I watch it, and I'm addicted. It keeps getting weirder and weirder.
Last night was great. It really opened up a new and curious story line. |

I think it is great. Like you I dropped off for a while, but now that I have a DVR and you can watch episodes online, I am hooked again.

I have only watched one episode on live TV and that was the first one from this season.
Each year for Christmas, the one gift I get from my kids is the DVD of that mose recent season. We then, as a family, sit down and watch an entire season in about a week. It's a real neat way to watch the show...one episode gets done and we are all fired up to watch the next. My wife is so into it right now, that she had to watch the first episode of season 4 instead of waiting for next Christmas. We missed last nights, but I think she's going to have me download it. My kids (14 and 15) were really upset when Charlie died last season, he was their favorite....but with all the twists, flash-backs and flash-forwards and hints of the supernatural and time-travel, I wouldn't be surprised to see he back an awful lot this season. All in all, a real fun show. |

They have started to use flash-forwards now instead of exclusively flash-backs. Last night they showed flashbacks of the four members of the "rescue" group. The Hurley and Jack flash stuff from last week is from the future .. after they get rescued. Six people (Oceanic 6) have somehow got off the island. Someone/group (unknown exactly) has seemingly staged the plane crash of Oceanic 815, and Jack, Hurley, and the other four have been given cover stories to follow. At the end of last season they showed the first flash forward .. it invloved Kate and Jack, and culminated with Jack reaching the point where he wants to return to the island. That flash back actually took place after the ones we've seen this year involving Hurley and Jack. I think all of them are going to get to the point where they attempt to return to the island. If you have any questions in particular ask away .. I follow it pretty closely. |

It's a great show, very creative. Kind of like Twins Peak way back when, but much less random. It would be pretty difficult to jump in now, and enjoy it, understand it.

They do really good recap shows on occasion to help draw people back in, and gain new viewership. They showed one of these types of recap shows right before the season opener. |

Its refershing to see a drama not based on a cop, a doctor, a lawyer..etc.., which brings me to Eli Stone. They did that show already, it was called Ally McBeal

Is the boat coming to rescue them not really a rescue party? Is Locke evil? |

Is Hurley really semi-psycho, or are his visions some type of time travelly thing? And WHO is in that coffin? And whatever happened to Michael? Where's Viking Girl ???

Rman,
I don't think the boat is a rescue party, or as they said it's not their primary objective. They are there to get Ben .. not sure why yet .. hasn't been explained. My guess is that Jack, Kate, Hurley, and three others will do something to secure their rescue, and the other castaways will be left behind. They will have to enter into some sort of a secret pact to get off the island. I do think the Oceanic 6 will find a way to return to the island at some point, but we will have to wait a while to find out just how. Is Locke evil? .. I don't think so .. he seems to be able to communicate with the Island in a similar manor as Ben. In one of the last episodes last season Ben took Locke to a cabin that seemed to contain the spirit of a ghostly creature named Jacob who seems to be all knowing. Both Ben and Locke have an ability to communicate with this being .. who hasn't been explaied real well yet. Ben took offense when it became apperant that Locke was able to hear Jacob, and shot him, and left him for dead at the end of last season. Locke and Ben's are basically agents of the island. They will do what needs to be done to protect it, and they do what Jacob tells them to do. I hope I'm not confusing you further. |

It seems that Hurley can hear Jacob as well. Hurley's character is really starting to become integral to the plot as he's become a quiet leader on the island. I think he's my favorite.
I thought it clever of the writers when Locke said if he'd still had a kidney on the side Ben shot him on, he'd probably be dead. So in a way, John's father saved him... |

Let me start with Michael ... If you watched last night Ben made mention of having someone on the freighter .. I think it's Michael. The last we saw of Michael he was given a boat and some coordinates from Ben, and was told he would find rescue if he followed it. I think he found the freighter belonging to the would be rescuers. Harold Perrineu is the name of the guy that plays Michael, and was listed last night on the credits (although maybe he is always listed .. not sure) although he didn't appear .. I bet he shows up next week. Who's in the coffin? ... there's been little mention of it, but you'd have to think it's one of the Oceanic 6, and it's someone Kate does not like. Kate showed no remorse when Jack mentioned it in last years season finale. My best guess ... it's Michael. The location of the funeral home seemed to be in a more urban area, and the funderal director was a black man. That's flimsy proof for sure, but that stuff coupled with Michael's double crossing ways on the island, and Jack saying that the person in the coffin was neither friend nor family made me think of Michael. Hurley .. I'm not sure if he's really crazy or not .. my guess is he's not, but he did have an imaginary friend in his first go around with the loony bin. This second time he saw ghost Charlie, but I think Charlie is an entity similar to Miss Hawking who appeared in one of Desmond's flashbacks. These people are kind of dead, but able to lend guidance and direction to the living. |

Yeah .. good catch .. both Ben and Locke were quite interested when Hurley made mention of the shack location, as he's not supposed to know that stuff. Hurley has some untapped powers that will probably come to light in the coming weeks. |
