I see Olympic rings when I hear his name and hear the theme music.
Big part of my sports childhood. God Bless, Jim. Rest in peace. |

RIP Mr. McKay. I can remember so many Saturday and Sunday afternoons watching Wide World of Sports with McKay as the host.

R.I.P. Jim McKay is a big reason I got started watching the Olympics on TV, starting with the 1968 Winter Games in Grenoble, France. I'll miss him.

One of the greatest announcers ever. Many of us grew up watching and listening to him. He will be missed.

I didn't know until I read his obit that his given surname was McManus, and that Sean McManus, the president of CBS sports, is his kid.
