Canadian jazz/blues guitarist
You may remember him best for the cheesy '80s song "Angel Eyes"; Healy had a distinctive style of playing his guitar on his lap. |

I worked in a record shop at the time his "See the Light" album was released. There was a real good buzz around the album even before pop radio got a hold of it. It was a pretty big hit early on with our customers, I remember playing it quite a bit in the shop and selling a pile of them. Personally I wasn't into his music, but no question he was a talented player and it's a shame he died so young.

I was billed on a blues festival with JH some years ago. Later on in one of the clubs that had music booked for the post fest, Healey showed up. Maybe he was having a bad day, but he was kind of a jerk. He got called up to play, and kept bitching about the drink he had over the mic. Like I said, maybe it was a bad day. His playing was fine. Come to think of it, my band also got called up and close the night with the other two guys from Jeff's band. Fun night.
