A little too liberal for my tastes as a commentator, but he was definitely more pragmatic and less angry than most. He always seemd very professional and respectful towards his guests and often times was very insightful (as opposed to inciteful).
He will be missed-- B-N-D |

One of the good guys. Seemed to be one of the (few) fair guys. The ONLY reason I watched network news on the elections for the last few years...
God bless, Tim. Happy Father's Day, from those who loved your book. Tim Russert on NBC |

Top-notch journalist, and a big loss. MTP is one of the best shows on TV. When you have sincere statements issued by everyone from Rush Limbaugh to Obama, you can certainly conclude that you've earned universal respect. Not an easy thing to do when you're a political reporter.

In this environment, his loss is equivalent to Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite leaving the air.
He pissed me off and made me nod in agreement . . . screw your leanings, that's the sign of a true journalist. |

He was a tough, fair journalist. The whiteboard he used on election night 2000 is in the Smithsonian. Sundays on MTP will never be the same. He will be missed.

I always admired his objectivity, whether I agreed with him or not.
